| Has there ever been a rugby team who knock the ball on as much as we do?
It was funny, now it's just embarrassing. We do well, get into great positions, and then knock it on like nothing I've ever seen.

What the targeted Harrison injury? Or the identical tackle on Waterhouse to what Chase has been suspended for? Or Dixon's (Cas) broken jaw? or the targeted Ratchford injury?oh sorry that was the year before wasn't it?

I think they mean the Laithwaite one, actually.

| Wigan have toned it down unbelievably to be fair to them. Didn't see that much lying on or ridiculous targeting of open limbs at all tonight for the first time since before Maguire's tenure.

| We played well Tonight and if we'd retained the intensity of our defence v a Leeds when we were 10 nil up, we could, should have done them.
Key things for me were the energy loss in the second half plus our poor 3/4 defence/ excellent ball handling skills of pie. We weren't far off. We can't win them all and have to be realistic. We shouldn't expect to win all time.
Re. Some points made about our players- asotasi was excellent in setting the platform and it was a good desicion by TS to start him with Hill. I can't believe anyone who criticises Simms. He puts 101% in and always made yards and put aggression in defence.
We've lost tonight but there's plenty in that match for us to be positive. Pattern was fantastic for his second game. For the first time this season we had timing with our moves when the ball went out and a quality kicking game, miles better than we've seen.
How boring would it be if we won all our games? It would be nice, but we have no right to just expect wins and disregard the quality of the opposition. Apart from the first 15 mins, Wigan were good, and so were we.

| Warrington look a shadow of the side that could be relied upon to flatten every Wigan ball carrier at the JJB two/three years ago.
Given their diminutive pack I figured you'd have smashed them black and blue with your big guys. Instead you allowed them to expand the play at will - thus giving them the freedom and space to play touch rugby.
As for some of the defence in the centres ...
I wouldn't mind if their back line was filled with all time greats. Consider the near total lack of threat Wigan posed Saints at the JJB. I mean, Saints played ok going down in a narrow defeat. But there's nothing we did that you weren't capable of replicating. Granted, we were missing a few. But with a similar degree of effort you could have shut them down just as easily. Whenever you strung one or two sets together they looked almost as vulnerable. Cherry & White shirts were jumping out of the defensive line seemingly ever set.
Very disappointing.

| I must confess that i am disappointed at not being able to slag off Wigan for a thuggish performance....well done to them !
I think in all honesty the difference between the two sides can be summed up thus , Wigan played basic rugby better with a player supporting the man with the ball every time ,simple rugby from the text book, & i was very impressed that Wigan's tries came mostly from handing moves without kicks to the corner, & when in possession they were making much more yardage with ball in hand.
On the other hand ,we still play this one man rugby with the most simple to read plays in the whole of the rugby league & although we do seem to be improving we have again come up short against a team who by their own standards are not great.

One man rugby didn't cost Warrington anything like as dearly as the astonishing charity both forwards and backs showed Wigan in defence.
The amount of one-handed passing Wigan were allowed to get away with without penalty would likely result in a top-tier NRL coach taking offence for downright disrespect.

| Got to say better than I expected last night. Solid effort
Young lads got a bit of a lesson in the left side, but tried hard. As a team needed to step up Defensively when 10-0 up but failed miserably.
Despite the best efforts, it doesn't hide the fact that it will almost certainly be 1 win in 7 next week.
Concentration now should be ensuring we stay in the 8, not worrying about Top 4 because we're nowhere near it

| Given recent form to stay with 12 of Wigan was a good overall effort. TS had better sharpen his act for next week as 1 in 7 will not be good news for the club and he and Agar will be under scrutiny. Where were the forwards last night they were still not bossing the middle. Much better in the halves, don't get the Ormsby Penny switch? Like the look of King and Currie was much improved as was Bridge, Westwood and Ratch their usual good selves.

| Just watched the game back on Sky.
Bridge looked back to his best in his correct position. Myler also had a strong game (although not many will elude to that on here) & Patton's kicking game was spot on.
But our left edge defense was appalling at times. Although Tompkins & Gelling were very strong, Patton, King & Ormsby will be targeted by every other club after watching that game. TS has much work to do if he's going to persist with picking them. They were slow to move up, were caught out of position 2 or 3 times, & missed or fell off tackles.

| If I'm honest, I didn't expect much from last night. We were better than I thought we'd be though!
I'm not expecting anything against Leeds next week either.
That would leave us at 1 win from 7. Depending on results, we could be as low as 9th at the end of next weeks rounds.
Our remaining fixtures are:
Leeds - A
Widnes - H
Hull FC - H
Salford - A
Saints - Magic
Catalan - H
Hudds - A
Hull KR - A
Wigan - H
Wakey - A
Saints - H
Cas - A
We need to win a minimum of 7 of the above games. Is that possible?

Think we need enough wins to not be in the bottom 4, so how many is that. if you feel that's 7 then we're big trouble in my opinion
Out on their feet second half, which was a worry considering we had to do very little last Saturday, against a team that played on a heavy pitch a day later.

| Quote ="morleys_deckchair"Big improvement on the cas game.. the game was lost on the left side of our defence.. Patton, Currie, King and Ormsby had their hands full... you cant blame them, they're only young lads still, who will get bigger and better... It was only fair Smith gave them another game after Wakefield.. Im sure they will have learnt alot from the game.
Wigan bombed a few and Smith kicked very badly.... could have been a worse scoreline... Fair result, no complaints.
Nice to see a HB with a kicking game as well.... More positives than negatives.'"
A very fair summary on a very good game with improvements shown on both side I thought. But still some way to go for both teams.

No-one can replace Sally, I'm just making the point that our defensive frailties are not solely linked to Kevin Penny.

| We gave it a dig but the bottom line is we arnt big enough in the pack.
We arnt strong and fast enough in the quarters.
Manfredi Gelling Burgess and dare I say Tomkins ran riot on us. These guys are 6"plus vat and feckin strong and fast.
I think all but perhaps one of their trys came from sweeping movements to the flanks from within their own half.
It's got to be said but even Joel is looking old, slow and lacking in body mass put up against the Pies quarter line.
Our forwards are just not big enough....it's so clear to see that now.

| I wouldn't get too excited by a 10 point loss to Wigan, but there undoubtedly were some positives and seeing Dec Patton out there in a big game and not looking at all out of place was exciting. And as someone who has been on his back before I would put in a word for Big Roy, he did the simple but tough things a prop has to do with effort. Sort of warming to him.

| The best about Roy is when he gets tackled he's back on his feet at speed. I say faster than any other player in our team. Interesting in contrast how good we was going forward for the 10 mins he and Hill were together and how we lost go forward when Sims came on.
I don't want to come across a Sims basher here. He has the desire and aggression but he's a welter weight up against heavy weights. He has to get off the chicken and pasta and on to the pie and chips then we might just get ourselves an Adrian Morley instead of Chris!

| I just don't get the constant harping about Sims. He was undoubtedly the best prop you had in the defeat against Saints. He played well again last night. If there's a "welterweight" in the Warrington side (aside from Asotasi - who seems more of a hole in the air) it's currently Hill. He looks a shadow of the player who played so well going down against Leeds in the GF.
The size thing is a complete non-issue. Wigan's pack has consistently performed poorly all season. They are very much undersized and underpowered with a back row that cannot function without gaps to run into.
As for Tomkins and Gelling, they towered just as equally over Saints make-shift three-quarters and yet they weren't running around/over/through their opposite numbers on Good Friday.
Had Warrington smashed Wigan's pack at the advantage line (as they have repeatedly over the last few years) Wigan's backs would have ceased to function. Instead you repeatedly allowed them to play the ball quickly, hardly ever followed up Myler's long kicking game and turned yardage into a charitable donation.
Indeed, the only time Warrington seemed motivated to keep Wigan penned in their own half was when the game was lost!
