| Quote ="Istilldontbelieveit"Jonathan Davies, mid-air, shortly after skinning Brett Mullins for a Great Britain try would be ace. Unlikely though.
Some people have said Shaun Edwards but not for me, =#FF0000due mainly to his lengthy career in RU. I know it sounds bitter but I really don't care. Last thing we need is people walking past and saying 'oh look, isn't that the bloke who Coaches Wasps?''"
And you want Jonathan Davies. He has spent far more time in Rugby Union than Shaun Edwards.

| Should be Hanley, not even our biggest fan could argue with that.

| Didn't Hanley go to union though for a brief spell in the early 2000s?
If Edwards and Hanley are out because of their union links how about Phil Clarke? Wigan and GB captain and an instantly recognisable figure in RL that has not had any links with union.
How good would it be if when you were walking up Wembley way you were greeted with a bronze statue of Phil Clarke in heroic pose with a sword and shield, like the iconic statue of Achilles in Hyde Park:
Around the statue plinth at the bottom it could have an inscription like THOSE WHO COMMIT UNSPORTSMANLIKE PLAY SHALL RECEIVE THE PUNISHMENT OF THE RUGBY GODS, it would be an inspiring message that to me sums up what the greatest game is about.

| Maybe they could get the sculptor to alter the shape of the genitalia if Wigan reached the Challenge Cup final.

Didn't say I wanted Jonathan Davies. Just one of my most memorable moments and a statue of it would look cool.

I've got an elderly mother who is quite seriously ill in hospital, that was the reason I didn't reply to your immature post.

read my post again, it was a reflection that you were actually able to pick a player other than a wigan player. no dig or malicious intent. no inference that you were hiding! last night when you didn't respond i think the whole thing was tongue in cheek.
i hope your mother is ok/recovers but what the has that got to do with a debate on a rugby forum.
you did however reply to my immature post by nominating a non wigan player as requested!
callling me a p!llock does however show you to be rather hypocritical for an old man who should know better!
now i think you need to clam down!
p.s. i truly hope your mother is ok.

What about making another statue of Cunningham? You can't get any more anti-Wigan than him.

I suppose kids wont vandalise it. They'd be frightened if they got too close. It'd be like putting a picture of Olive from On The Buses on the matlepiece at home

SLIM, sincere apologies for last night. I think you know it's not my way to get into petty name calling, I detest it. It shows lack of respect and in many ways a lack of understanding.
It has been a very stressful week, but that shouldn't be reason for my outburst.
However I still think it should be Shaun Edwards

lol @ shaun edwards, however on a serious note, i can be a wind up merchant at times but i really hope you mum's ok.
on a rugby note i think who ever you pick it's going to be a mine field. i'm now begining to think a generic rugby league player made of bronze with no identifiable features would be the only solution, then every fan could only speculate who they thought it was or which team they played for! otherwise it may end up with some epic graffiti attacks, a fate that would never befall it's football counterpart.
