Unis are getting no more money than before. Its simply that the students will be paying for the courses instead of the Dept of Education. |

I'm NOT having a dig here, but it may stop some of these impressionable 16 year-olds, thinking that Uni is a MUST-DO thing.
Surely, a good deal of these courses can be done at night-school
I mean, I was listening to a well known pop-quiz on national radio the other month, and the contestant was asked (in the getting to know you, bit)
"what have you been upto lately"
"ohhh, I've just dropped my daughter off. She's just starting at uni"
"oh that's nice...what's she studying"
"dressmaking"
you could literally hear the tumbleweed
Why do so many people HAVE to go to uni, when these courses surely must be available at a Tech college, at (now) a fraction of the cost...plus, they could be earning in the meantime...???
Anyway, back on thread. Some good names have come up, and an interesting fact from Richeastender...that's a good bargaining tool for the RFL.
I don't even care if it's the Andrex Super League....it just needs to be a bigtime name...to make us look half decent to the rest of the sporting world. The Leeds Met Carnegie Challenge Cup, must have RU/footie/cricket...even darts, pi551ng themselves
