It was Mathers twitter outbursts last week that let people know something was going on.

I cant imagine Smith would have been very happy about that... airing your in house grievances on a social networking site.

Probably wont long before clubs (football and rugby) stop players using social networking sites... didnt paul Wood also give out that Bridge was playing loose forward on his facebook page, only for it to be hastily removed?

With possibly Hicks and V Anderson on there way would it not be possible to keep mathers?.. seems that two players are going and ones on the way. further signings maybe??

There's no doubt Solomona's class & I was a big fan of us signing him - he's a better player now than Blythe or Mitchell by a country mile. I'm just not a buyer into the Brett Hodgson hype I'm afraid but there you go.

Rhys Evans, he's an exceptional talent.

As I've said previously, you only have to look at Smiths approach at Leeds, he's doing the same thing here and it's the right one, without a doubt.

It's not hype is it, he's the reigning MOS, so It can't be hype. If anything Gareth Widdup is hype, as he's untested but you're putting him forward on the basis that he plays in the NRL & for Melbourne - we've nothing to substantiate that he's even better than Mathers.

Good to see people being picky about is signing the current MoS and a world class performer. Have a word with yourselves.

i'm not disputing the signing,but personally i think we've already got the actual Man of steel from 2009 at the club.

All well and good but what we really need is a quality goal-kicker.

I just dont see the sense in this signing... what will he bring to the team? I mean OK.. he is a great goalkicker, he has great leadership, fantastic organisation, great handling, solid defense and he will score plenty of tries... but those things aside what his he going to bring to the team?

Great player but a bit of a gamble on a 2 year deal I reckon. Could be a great signing or could be bad use of a quota spot.

I doubt he'll be coming cheap either. Which players do you expect will leave to make way on the CAP?

We don't have to create any space, we're operating well below the cap this season.

My view on the actual signing of Hodgson should it happen (never mind all the other debate surrounding this story) is the exact same view I held when I found out we had signed Solomona.

I don't think age alone is an issue, Bradford have examples of this in Orford and Menzies. But he does seem to be picking up a few injuries over the last few years. He missed a few already this year, but if he stays fit for Wire he should be a great signing.

I am aware he had a very good year in 2009.

Missed 4 games I believe already this year and missed quite a lot in 2007 in the NRL. He isn't the biggest of players and it will be interesting to see how his body holds up this year.

Your comparison with Matt Orford isn't a particularly good one if you check your stats. Orford has played more games than Hodgson in the last 3 years.
