Really pleased for Kev Penny, took his try well. It may be that there is no future for him at Warrington (for whatever reason) but I can't help myself in wishing the guy well.
He is no worse than a great number of wingers who have played for Warrington in the last 15 years. Jesus how long did Gaskell get?

A wise chum of mine pointed out that KP would be gone by now if he didn't figure in TS's plans - he'd have been offloaded in the off-season surely to any number of teams (ie: anyone from the Championship or indeed a number of SL clubs). The fact that he's still in the squad must mean there's plans afoot for the player. How long does he have left on his contract?

Overall tonight, it was a very Kevin Penny performance. Great take for the try. Ran the ball up a few times. Couple of last ditch tackles. Once or twice noticed him way out of position in defence. Ready to chase back when St Helens broke.

Agree with you mate. With Hicks retireing, Penny seems the obvious replacement & with the help of Brian Carney plus the loan spell to Harlequins, he is hopefully getting the defensive flaws out of his game ready to step in next season |
