I think you make my point for me. I don't really want to go to places (with my kid) where I can't be sure that wearing a Warrington shirt would not lead to trouble.

It was different back on the 80's when I was a young lad and quite liked the tension, but not anymore.

I am saying cover up whilst walking to and from the ground (with a coat etc) and when you get in the ground take it off and show your colours.

It's easy enough for me to say "just don't wear colours" because frankly I'd rather not go than wear a Warrington top to any game but that's personal preference.

Not taking your kids to fixtures you deem as high risk does make sense but I still reckon you're a crying tart if that's your sole reason for no going yourself...



If you simply don't want to go then fair enough. I'm not going either but it's not because the big bad Hull boys might be after me.

I think if the trouble continues in the South Stand I may not go to home games either



But seriously, I'm not afraid to go, I would just prefer to spend my time in more enjoyable environs with my girl. Having said that I'll probably go on the day at the last minute (as usual).

PS - Until Paul Smith comes out with a Warrington summer season I won't be wearing a warrington shirt anyway.

Biggest issue about Hull away is how (after charging £21 to get in) they charge more for food and beer at the catering outlets in the away fans section than they do elsewhere in the ground.

Now before the clique start with their smarty-pant responses can I just record:

1) I’m not going into pubs near to the ground because after doing it once it’s a case of “never again”;

2) I know I don’t have to buy the food however I will have travelled 100+ miles probably arriving quite early as we will have allowed for delays that didn’t occur and might actually feel a bit peckish and fancy a quick pint; and

3) I know the beer and food is over-priced crap but see 1 and 2 above.


Its bugged me for a few years now since they locked the gates on the concourse and stopped you walking around the corner to a “home” fan outlet. To me ripping off away fans in such a blatant manner is not what “rugby league” is about and its about time the rest of the Super League clubs took Hull to task over it.

I would boycott their offering PY and bring your own food and drink in. Consider it like a picnic. You could always smuggle in 2 scotch eggs and a sausage roll in your underpants.

I didn't know about that Paul but I agree it's disgusting and the other clubs should certainly step in. Perhaps by refusing their allocation for this fixture in protest and publicly explain to their fans why in order to discourage less numbers from travelling and paying at the gate.

It may or may not be within the rules (I assume it if if they're getting away with it) but it's definitely not in the spirit of the game.

and we put a big score on salford. after reading the pevious posts and seeing the people who are not travelling over i can only see us taking 500 tops tbh, which is disappointing for a bank holiday fixture.

Hull FC do not run the catering at the KC Stadium, the SMC do.

(as well as looking at other solutions too) In the interest of having a balanced debate i've seen more bother from Wire fans on my travels than i have anywhere else but i understand that's a minority and it doesn't stop me coming over. Sadly we get them in every sport and at every ground, all we can do is work to stamp it out of the game and Hull knows it needs to work harder than most on it's reputation.

A bank holiday, most people off work. In great form and could be going into the game top of the table. I'd expect 1000 at least.

Fully agree with the point in hand though. I never buy food or drink inside any football ground I go to, including Anfield, because I don't wish to give anyone involved in the rip off Premier League a penny more than the cost of my overpriced ticket.

I take a different stance with rugby league games because the circumstances are not the same but my next visit to the KC will definitely be 'refreshmentless' now. To suggest Hull FC are blameless is ridiculous too. It's their home game and they shouldn't be allowing it. End of story.

There isn't alot FC can do about though.

I can't see the club having any input as to what Heathcotes charge, so I fail to see the difference.

In the past yeah. But given our recent form and the fact it's on a BH and great facilities, less than 1k would be disappointing imo!
