Think you're trying to put words in people's mouths here.'"
I was exaggerating things, I still believe Smith has failed to deliver any positives from his time as England coach thus far, even the white wash against the Kiwi's had people in question at the time, back then I was optimistic but after the World Cup I fail to see how we are going to improve especially with the Aussies looking so strong. I think if he fails in the 4 nations coming up he'll probably step down anyway and concentrate on his job at Wire which IMO is probably best for Wire and England. An England coach IMO should not coach a club team, they don't do it in football so why is it acceptable in rugby?

Quote ="Odemwingie"I think all of his decisions are justified other than Higham really. Myler also is questionable because he has not played lately but lets be honest if he would of had a great game against Wales everyone would of been saying what a great selection he was.
Westwood I think would do a good job at international level, he is a good hard working player IMO the only issue I have is that I think JJB is a better player.
Although Warrington won the challenge cup I don't see how so many players can be in the squad from the team who finished so low in the table but maybe his choice can be justified as they have done better than anyone else in one off games.
I think Higham has just tipped his poor choice over the edge [size=150but overall I'm not that bothered anymore, international RL is a joke anyway[/size.'"
Feel free to backtrack.

What you going to say if Myler plays a blinder against the French?
Or do you hope we lose so you can moan about Sammm not being there.

It is not about him playing a blinder or not as I have said time and time again.
It is about preparation for the biggest game of the year. A week before the aus game and he throws out the form player for his little bum pal, its a joke. Tomkins should be playing as he his the form player, giving him more practice and experience going into the big one.
The result does not matter against france, Myler will probabaly play well but so would Tomkins so that doesn't matter. It is about the week after, preperation.
Seriously if you cannot see that this is a bad decision you are clearly just defending your own coach.

Doesn't really matter now the likes of you will be on Smiths case unless we beat the Aussies, even if he plays Sam as then you lot will moan an say he wasn't ready because he didnt play against France.
Only way he can win is if we beat them an lets face it Sam aint that good compared to them.

| imo i think the game, against France will be Mylers chance to prove himself. If he has another shocker,Smith will play Tomkins. We all know what Tomkins can do,that nice little side step and dash.(thats about it).
I just think Myler has more about him then Tomkins.

| After the way Smith masterminded the semi-final win exploiting Tomkins weaknesses leading to King's walk-in hat-trick I reckon that Smith is well aware that Sheens would spot the weaknesses just as easily.
Tomkins is too big a risk and has never produced in a pressure game. Perhaps after he's had more than 20 or so first grade games he'll be ready to make a mark in a big game. Until then Myler everytime.

And Myler has done it in bigs games has he?
I seem to remember Tomkins having a blinder against Leeds at home infront of 20,000 people. Oh and the must win game at Castleford he got MOM and scored 3 tries. Oh and last week in his first international he did the same. Oh and he did pretty well in the play-offs as well.
Tomkins is way ahead of Myler.

even most of the wire fans on here will laugh at that comment.
He has not got in the dream team, and got young player of the year and turned Wigans year around by not playing to a hald decent level

Not got the tempermant for the top level. Look at the semi-final. He had tears in his eyes when Matt King was laughing at him when he scored the second of his hat-trick. The Aussies and Kiwis would crucify him.
Stop being so biased.

And what has Myler done exactly that is so much better than Tomkins? Not that I'm disagreeing with Tony Smith by the way, but to see why you think Myler deserves his chance on what basis more than Sam? When was Myler's last good game?

Mini Rogue you clearly know your Rugby League but i must pick you up on the bit in Red....
David Waite constantly ignored, played out of position or left on the Bench good performing halfbacks such as Briers,Deacon and Horne on regular occasions...
Sculthorpe and Farrell were played at halfback a few times...And i even recall him starting Richard Horne on the wing against Australia.....
Good work my ar$e....I thought his coaching was awful...

| Yes it's quite obvious that smith is just picking all the Warrington players because he is Warrington coach. If only he had the coaching knowledge of some slightly dubious Wigan fans.

Myler was better against Wales. Its alright Tomkins grabbing the headlines off the back of Myler's grafting to create the space but it is the mis-tackles stats from Saturday Smith will have been interested in. England can't afford to have players who miss the number of tackles that Tomkins has at international level.

Richie Myler

Myler played against a French team that had other Super League stars in it and against a French team that had half a team missing.
Sam won the young player of the year award and selected in the super league dream team, Myler has hardly played since July. The only people who are thinking Myler should be in are Warrington fans, hardly surprising.
