I love Sita but totally agree with this, he seems to be doing less and less each week. No more big hits, but to be fair to him he gets missed out alot and is used as a dummy runner a hell of a lot, and when he does get the ball he's usually stood still. So he's not being used effectively, but right now i'd pick king over him but keep the rest of the Squad as it is. Pity Bodene can't play from what we've seen of him so far

What if we get a flogging against Cas, and Clark has a bad game, and Price drops him for the final.

I know you are being mischievous but it needs to be continual poor form to be dropped. It's also relative. Clark playing 5/10 is still better than any option we have. Toby King playing 7/10 of his capability is not.

In other words I hope we field a team without our stars. A flogging like at London a few years ago is just collateral damage.

I could never imagine him in the Wigan, Saints or Leeds side and I use that as the comparative benchmark.

I thought the same about Rhys Evans for years against much criticism too.

Difference is though that T.Kings shows something almost every game he plays. Rhys didn't.

Plus i believe if Toby was in a Wigan set up he'd be on the level that Gildart is now.

Right centres for the clubs you name last weekend:

Wigan - Willie Isa
Leeds - Jimmy Keinhorst

Now, we can have a healthy debate about whether King is better than all of those three (I would say he was), but to say you 'could never imagine' him getting past any of those three suggests a pretty deep seated personal beef.

OK fair enough. I should have said I cannot image Toby King being one of the first choice centres for Saints, Leeds, Wigan.

I can assure you I have no personal beef with him in any seated form, nor with Ryhs Evans, Sam Wilde, George King, Russell, Cox, Wheeler, Laithwaite, Ben Evans et al which I have never fancied as top rate players either. It's a broad church the Warrington fan base and I don't expect everyone to agree.

It's not this week that concerns me it's the Hull game on the Thursday after the final. Win or lose at Wembley the coaches will have a huge task to get the players up/down with a five day turnaround never mind the fatigue factor. Our skinny squad will definitely be tested that week.

I can’t recall seeing may centres pick Hall’s pocket like T King did in the semi, and Hall is no mug. Rhys Evans didn’t develop as was expected, I think King has (and has further development in him).

I like Toby King, i think he can still develop alot more and i think he'll be a much more dynamic centre than Atkins.
As for the Hull game i don't think win or lose the final we would slack off. Bodene, M.Brown, Pomeroy,G.King if not Picked, M.Smith,Possibly Atkins all coming in to rest players would do a good job and i don't think we'd be easy pickings for Hull. Gonna be an interesting 3 weeks

King had a belting game against Leeds that's for sure.

I guess it was all those times he bombed chances by not passing that have stuck with me, plus I'm not convinced of his out and out pace. Anyhow time will tell, I hope he goes on to flourish and be an England international (if he doesnt want to limit himself to Ireland).

Toby has enough pace. He ran from about half way and went through the defence like butter without a hand on him for his try vs Leeds!

Give me a centre with good hands, footwork, awareness and intelligence over a centre with pace every time. Obviously, all these attributes would be useful but you can't have eveything.

The likes of Allan Bateman & Ronnie Duane. weren't lightning fast, for example. I don't recall Matt King being lightning quick and in recent years, Shenton has been one of the standout SL centres with very little speed about him.

Give me pace between the ears every time.
