| Does that mean Liam Sutcliffe is on his way out?
Or is that Cory Aston is not quite ready.

| Good luck to him. Not many players Wire release go onto bigger SL clubs .
I can think of Gleeson to Wigan in recent memory. Any other since the days of Sculthorpe and Harris?

Why are you laughing? Salford are currently above us in the league have 6 championships and the last one a mere 40 years ago....I nearly added Bridge to Widnes, apparently they won the WCC and also have more recent championship wins than our favourites

Faded since when, 1955?
It's been stated that the only measure of success is Championships, off the top of my head there could have been legitimate shouts for McCarthy at Hull KR, Riley to Wakefield, Blythe at Bradford and anyone that has ended up at Halifax or Swinton. Hull FC, Huddersfield and Oldham are in that higher echelon, but, I don't know anyone who's gone there recently from Wire

| Good luck to him, being the most reliable support runner we have had in recent years I would have thought he would be one of our top try scorers this season given we don't seem to have anybody else running support lines for most of our plays. Could have done with him this year in my opinion.

Are you conflating my use of "bigger clubs" to infer "more successful" clubs? I see what you were doing but chose to ignore it. It's puerile to argue that Swinton are a bigger club than Warrington, so I'm out.

| Smith got rid of Myler (a proven try scorer), and has bought 2 half backs, since.
One, a bloke who's best days were years ago, in another country, and likes the physio's table.
The other, who's best days were few and far between, and he too likes the physio's table, and cost us a pretty penny
Further example of Smith's recruitment/judgement

Fair comments. Myler wasn't the world beater we hoped he would be. Still isn't now.
Smith did sign a sensational half back too though. shame he wasn't more well rounded or may still be here tearing teams apart.

Right I'll speak slower. This is all because, maybe a month ago now, I compared our lack of achievements to our more successful peers such as Leeds, Wigan and St Helens within a given timeframe and you sought to try and say they were comparable in some attempt of a defense of Smith and Agar. This attempt of yours even reached the desperation level of you questioning the lengths of my acronyms as unfair and now the stupendous comparison between Warrington and Swinton.
I then state a separate point about bigger clubs and you think that I have contradicted myself because you purposefully misconstrued "bigger" with more "successful" when the difference is clear to the man on the Clapham omnibus.
Anyway I thought we agreed to disagree? You support Smith and Agar because we made the finals in 2016 and won the hub cap last year (or has your position done a 180?), and I don't because that's all we have done in 4 years and still accounts to very little (or zero in most peoples eyes). My view has remained consistent.
If you are going to go after dismantling my rationale you will have to try harder, maybe even back it up with a fact now and again.

| We haven't had the best of luck with Widnes recruitment from Widnes since Jiffy.
Andy Currier.
Richie Myler(via Salford), Kevin Brown
I purposely kept Currier separate with a full stop. Not fare on Myler and Brown to put them in the same sentence as Currier.
However 30 years or Widnes has been poor on us.

What has the speed that you "speak" got to do with anything do you have to talk whilst typing and as for the length of your acronyms I've really no idea?
I think that you may be reading too much into my posts tbh rather than reading what I post. i'm using your rationale from a previous post to see whether it had any impact on what you are saying here. All of the clubs that I mentioned have more and also more recent champion winning teams than ours, that is a fact and it got me thinking, are we as big as we, or the man on the Clapham omnibus think we are? I wouldn't knock Swinton either as they were unlucky with their ground being sold, compete in a city with another club and have been a bit nomadic whereas we have prospered since our move within the borough....there but for the grace of God?
I think that we probably are bigger than most of the clubs listed, but, that is a matter of opinion and based on a number of factors other than the number of championship trophies, for example, turnover, profit, attendances, the ability to attract and retain top talent.
You could have just said something along those lines or whatever you considered was 'big' and we would have reached an informed, happy agreement.
Regarding Smith and Agar my patience ran out and i had posted that on the appropriate thread and at a time in the season that I thought appropriate given last season's performance which is where we differed I've no idea what this has to do with this discussion?

| Played golf last night with a well known Rugby commentator, and his summary was pretty much spot on "This is a sign of where Super League has ended up - when a BIG club like Leeds, who have plenty of money, pay Myler as their new star half back - this would never of happened 10 years ago, even 5 years ago, and it has followed another club with plenty of money buying Brown as their new star half back"
I couldn't argue with him.
He also said it is being talked about atm, that the league will go to 14 teams again, and back to the old format. I prefer the old format, but could not ague with the point he made about there not being enough talent for 12 teams, let alone 14!

See I never get this not enough talent for 14 teams. ...the game's never had talent for six teams so why we bother moaning about 14, I don't know .
We HAVE to go to 14 and we have to get Toronto in. After that the other would be either the Bulls or Toulouse... getting Canadians and more French players playing at the top level is a must. And the sport doesn't feel right with Bradford ing about in lower leagues.
And if we are worried about depth of talent why not bring in a rule where players signed from the Australian reserve grade don't count on the quota or salary cap.... genuine kids though... not the naughty boys like sandow or Wayne Bennett dummy spits like Ben hunt. ... be nice to see us unearth some future superstars.

That is a great shout mate, could make all the difference to a revised format, maybe limit the number to two per team to give our own young guns a chance to shine.
