Bad link to the first team squad on the Wire website. That's a bit poor. Even the Widnes website has a link to the first team squad that works even if it is last year's!

Deffo needs reviewing. Website is terrible. I asked a question on a Facebook post too recently about a competition they were running, no reply, you would expect somebody to be manning it and have the courtesy to respond to fans.

Spot on ninearches it wouldn't take much to improve the site especially with some up to date news, official confirmation or denial would quell any rumours, I may be wrong but did the Paul Wood saga start on social media? if so people will reply/respond and it spreads.

That usually gets updated with new profile pics following the media day we do just before then start of the season.

However with the Facebook/Twitter thing the club can't really win.. When the Christmas friendly was postponed and it was announced on Twitter.. Some of the stuff tweeted back to the club was moronic..

Mikey, unfortunately moronic posts are part and parcel of social media, every individual and organisation is exposed. All being even the management of the Wires comms channels could be vastly improved.

From personal experience the face to face customer service could do with a coat of looking at too, in particular the club shop staff.

The lack of attention to fan/customer experience may well be a general cultural thing within the club that needs addressing.

Cas & Leeds had a final that month and so their scores would be inflated. Marketing person ell could've taken holiday during August etc. The assessment should've been done over a longer period of time for a true reflection.

In order to have an 'image' and public profile, people have actually got to have the first clue who you are.

Since you're a complete non-entity of a rugby club, desperate to be taken seriously but never quite making it, it's hardly shocking that nobody has any idea, is it ?

Well I did give it some thought but they took too long getting back to me.. I even offered to volunteer for a few months to help with the marketing but still had no response, so I took another job.

Shame really, I was hoping I could try to sort it out.

Back in the Cullen Era 2004/2008
we had a so so team but an electric atmosphere at the club on and off the field,
go in a pub and people were talking rugby !
brilliant pre match entertainment and Sean Mellor rousing the fans with his over the top enthusiasm "Perry Comos Magic Moments" and remember Jedward and the mickey taking music as the away side came on the field


The Andrew Johns match was a perfect example.
Now no game compare/host (to talk of)

mutter a song and get warned about your language
and what have you got ?
falling attendances and no atmosphere.
I mean even the Drummers have given up and gone home

I think most clubs have had a couple of very hard years with revenue falling due to lower gates. Warrington's response seems to have been to significantly increase advertising through their website - and perhaps they have also cut some support staff as well ? Anyway, the result for me has been to reduce the number of visits I make to the site as there is little news, and not a great deal of club or player information. Presumably they have a counter for the website and may up their game if this is true for the majority of fans. I think a good start would be to put up a questionnaire asking what information us punters wanted. At least they would be using their website to good effect, and presumably it would not take a great deal of effort.

Don't see the problem really. The website is pretty regularly updated and the Warrington Guardian provides another media outlet. Other sources have to provide a justified return on investment if they are just duplicating info already on the existing channels, and I'd suggest that its unlikely that we'd attract new support just through dedicated Warrington Wolves social media.

=#FF0000to be fair we had an OK atmosphere, nothing different from nowadays if I'm honest, and Ive even been in the north stand a few times over the last couple of seasons and its been good in there.. People may have actually talked more about rugby when we lost, but that's just the nature of "bad things" its just like reviews on products, there are invariably more people willing to say something is rubbish than when something is actually quite good. I can Remember banging on the table in the pub criticising Cullens forward rotation in particular bringing on a prop five minutes before half time what was the point?.....since Tony Smith doesn't do this I have nothing to complain about its quite simple really....

=#FF0000a perfect example of what....one match in a whole season that yielded nothing again. it was however a great feeling from the second it was announced that Johns was coming, and it was a superb game, but that loophole is shut and we'll never get the chance to see a world beater in this league under the current format..thats the RFLs fault not Warrington wolves....

=#FF0000falling attendances when we are at the most successful we've been since the early seventies has got to be leveled at the current financial plight of the average northerner... with most experiencing the equivalent of something like a 24% cent drop in salary..... I don't believe its down to pre match entertainment or a club website in the slightest.




=#FF0000i'm glad his experience is being put to the use of signing players like the said Andrew johns, Michael Monaghan Joel Monaghan, Brett hodgson, Ashton Simms, getting a better WCC competiton in the pipeline, running a top stadium, filling in the corners, getting world cup games etc etc ... instead of organinsing some dancing girls or the wire fireball etc...
