its a strange feeling... i watch the interviews and seem to hang on his every word.. tony smith is rugby league.

Is that him who can't win a game for NSW, lol he's a great coach Bellamy but at the minute i'd have to say Smith everything about the guy is just fantastic, his attitude, his style.

| In his post match interview when he wouldn't look at the camera I couldn't work out whether is was because he was so annoyed with the players or a dislike for the commentators.

| I don't think he looks at the camera because he feels a little insecure, either that or he feels the camera will "steal his soul".
What was interesting was the look on Mathers face when Tony shook his hand at the end of the game, go back and look on SKY and then decide if everyone in that camp likes Tony. You have to respect what he has done in the game but I don't think he's the "great bloke" you all think he is. Nobody at the top of their profession ever got there by being a nice bloke all the time.
Good win by the Wire though.

We should get him in charge of the England team. The FA get a top club coach in Capello, the RFL get Steve McNamara.....sums it up.

| TS looked very uncomfortable during that interview last night. It was probably partly down to him not being happy about the performance, but I also think that he just doesn't like Eddie very much. I can't remember ever seeing him as a special guest during Sky's live matches this season.

In person he's a good speaker so guessing there's something there.

Tony Smith seems to have a dislike for Eddie Hemmings, it could possibly stem back to the last world cup and some of the things that were said about him and his squad by the sky team.
I`m not sure exactly how it went but if you remember back, Tony Smith was being interviewed recently after one of our games and he said it would make a refreshing change knowing that Bill Arthur was doing the commentary on our game and he would look forward to watching the game later. It was something along those lines anyway, it was a great response from TS.

| How could anyone not have a complete lack of respect for Eddie Hemmings? The bloke has never played the game but feelshe has the right to act as a pundit on what happens at the highest level, doing so in a dramatic, sensationalist matters. He's a presenter and a commentator - say what happens on the pitch, but no-one cares about your opinion.

Remember that very well. Think it was the Magic Weekend game against Salford and he was interviewed by Rod Studd or Ben Proe after the game and he said that he was looking forward to watching the game as Bill Arthur was commentating so there will be a different viewpoint of things from the norm.

Capello's team have had a pretty good start. Undefeated in the first two group games. If only Tony Smith's England had managed that in the rugby league world cup!
I remember the dark days of Bobby Robson when we lost one and drew one of our first two in 1986, or lost all three group games in 1988, which is probably why in 1990 two draws in the first two was considered a glorious achievement in the heyday of Sir Bobby and his genius Gazza.
Then we had Graham Taylor in 1992 (draw, draw, lose, out), Glenn Hoddle and Kevin Keegan who both had us losing to Romania in the group stages.
After having this sort of dross, two draws in the first two games is a momentous achievement for me. Capello is still a long way behind England's greatest ever coach after Sir Alf Ramsey (Sir Sven) who used to send us through group stages dispatching decent teams like Argentina, Switzerland, Croatia, Paraguay with ease.....if only Sven was in charge of us and not Ivory Coast I would be predicting quarter finals for this England team.

I know what you're saying, but a draw to Algeria is a terrible result for a team with players of Gerrard & Rooney's calibre. Wtf has happened to Rooney anyway?!?
