St. Helens ARE NOT our rivals. In my lifetime of watching RL,they've only raised a ripple with us, since Eddie Hemmings invented a hoodoo. Crap travelling support, until 96, and since then, they come over all "Billy Big Biscuits".
Wigan, Widnes and even Leigh are ahead of them from WA9 (they even have a Warrington postcode, and a Merseyside address on their letters.....NO IDENTITY)
Todddle off'"
The feelings mutual our rivals are wigan and leeds , teams who we contest championships with , you could add bradford and widnes to that list at one time or another. The big, succesfull clubs like saints, wigan and leeds view warrington as a temporary irritant who shout and scream "look at us everybody were a big club, we can fly a plane with a banner behind it ",much in the same way united , liverpool and nal view chelsea/city. Dont believe me ,look what wigan and leeds think of warrington , they too see you as some sort of joke.

So, just as I thought, you've turned it into a willy measuring contest
Warrington fans sing "it's always our year" as a kind of gallows humour. That's why idiots like you perceive us as "a big club". Ask anyone over the age of 30, and we are just Warrington. Not a big club. Not a small club.
Wigan see us as a rival. They always have. We see them as a rival. Always have.
Leeds went decades without winning either a championship or CC. But we don't see them ad rivals, and vice versa.
As ntw has said, Stains didn't win owt for years. Does the "status" "big club" (a load of ) stand, or is it convenient to brush decades "under the carpet"?
You got beat 3 days ago. Even Saddened has dipped out.
Do the Warrington board a favour, toddle off to your namesake's website.

I'm not [iau fait [/iwith early 20th century rugby league, but maybe Batley WERE a big club, then. Fair play to them. Or maybe you're just being a RL snob, as they aren't now, and you're getting a bit above yourself, just to prove a point.
You're the only plastic scouse on here, 3 days after being nilled.
To paraphrase Parliament " In the name of God. Go ."

Somebody from a Merseyside postcode, working??? Stop. My sides are hurting.
You're at it again. Willy measuring. Now it's a competition who Wigan's biggest rivals are, and who they'd rather beat.
RL rivalry (just like football) resembles a Venn diagram (when you reach secondary school, you'll study them). Some overlap all area, some meet only one of the remaining constituents, some meet several. It really isn't important.
What matters, is what's happened recently.
I await your reply with the usual indifference..... especially after a defeat, 3 days ago. Get swatting up on those Venn diagrams.

Your right i dont really work , but i do get paid 60k a year to sit on my watching tv monitors showing furnaces and doing the odd bit of maintinence at UK5 Pilkington NSG, BTW the unemployment rate is higher in warrington than st.helens , as for venn diagrams i do remember them and they proved nothing, however i will ask my best mate, fellow saints fan, maths PHD and city futures trader to explain them again with relation to the probsbility of warrington eventually winning the championship coupled with the occurance of windows being put through on away fans coaches

... and you still post on a Warrington forum, 3 days after a defeat, now willy measuring about how much you earn.... and quoting "city futures" people's thoughts (look where THEY put this country, in the recent recession, eh readers).
In reality, you're probably sat in your tea stained "jogging suit". Granted, you maybe watching monitors, but more than likely, they're showing reruns of Jeremy Kyle, and you're waiting for the Pound Bakery to open again.
Even Saddened has moved on....

Attended this as a 12 year old on a school trip from Hull. Warrington had a great team at the time captained by Harry Bath and included Brian Bevan.
Widnes had Colin Hutton at fullback and the following year he came to play for Hull FC for half a dozen seasons.
I so loved that first trip to Wembley that I went to every CC final thereafter until I left England in 1966. Saw Widnes win it in 1964 when they beat Hull KR.

| REDVEE is OK. He's not personal to anyone...which is unacceptable.
(Although if he is a mod on their forum, then he's guilty if allowing other's to be personal to me.)
He adds some comical value and adds some gravitas to the stella season we have ahead.
I get posters ripping me all the time. So long as it's that then it's fair game.

| There are just twelve teams in SL. Any fan of any team who considers one of the other eleven as a 'joke' reveals far more about their own ignorance and arrogance then they do about the true status of the other teams in the comp.

I was at Wheldon Rd that day RD. Couldn't believe it when we ran out in Cas' white away kit. Okker forgot to load the kit box I think. We should have kept that strip as it was the best we played that season. John Woods was untouchable that afternoon.
Don't remember us repeating the kit gaff though.

Yep I remember that, wouldn’t have remembered it being Widnes though , have you got any more details?
Not withstanding that,
Thing is tho it makes me recall an old teaser that I dined out on many times, which was “When was the last time the great Mickey Adams played in a Warrington shirt” ?
The answer was in a testimonial at Wilderspool, Adams played for the opposition in the first half, and for Wires in the second half.
Not sure whose testimonial tho, Parry Gordon, John Bevan, and there was one game that Brian Bevan had a cameo and scored a try.
And not forgetting Rod Stewart treating us to his dribbling skills at Wilderspool one Sunday afternoon.

I think a minor riot emanating from the Railway End would have brought about a swift about turn from the Chemics if they ran out in the P&B. I don't remember that either.

It happened, I was there amongst 5000 others. It was the blue jerseys with the letter W on the breast.I have a grainy picture but not sure how to upload.I can email it to anybody interested.Poor quality picture but you can just make out the W on the shirt of Stuart Wright.Proper fixture, not a friendly game.
