It would be good to think that the coach in waiting is pulling the strings with the club as to his preferred signings?

BWW, I think may be onto something as most of the names touted are actually free as the NRL has finished, therefore why the hold up of an announcement?

That's what is strange about all this, it seems a dead cert that it's Price, but still not announced - doesn't make sense. Unless they are waiting till they have the full management team agreed and in place before they announce?

So New coach is Price, we can also confirm he assistant will be x and the conditioner etc will be y and z?

Club awaiting visa for price. Can take 3 weeks. Soon as that's done it will be announced. He is working in Aus for now hence the Roberts signing

Misread that as "End of the World" and thought he had signed for Widnes.

Maybe even Mal Meninga has been waiting for the Wire job to become vacant but needs to discharge his obligations with the Kangaroos first, & his name is a perfect anagram of Steve Price .

I hate to say this BUT definite signings with no new coach being announced,does seem to point in the direction of the elephant in the room, with Agar being the elephant. I may have missed something but is Agar still part of the HJ set up or has he gone?

He has gone to be fitted with a cork festooned hat & to get some Horsetralian helocution lessons . All a bit depressing.

Personal opinions on Agar aside, it would make sense from the club's POV that we've kept hold of him as a plan B.

Should we fail to sign a new coach, we still have a first team coach contracted and here next season.

Probably also why there's been nothing official from the club in terms of "we're currently scouring the globe to find a replacement for TS".

Plan A - We manage to bag a new coach, and it gets announced along with Agar's departure.

Plan B - All of our targets reject us, and so the club saves face and has Agar next season, which was "always the succession plan". We then move for a new coach as and when they become available during the season.

It looks like it will be Price. A gamble by the club possibly, but let us back him fully and let's hope he is a great coach for us. Nothing confirmed though, still very much at rumour stage.

Just had a text from my friend in Australia ,says strong rumour over there is Price is definitely coming to Warrington and bringing Cronulla half back James Maloney with him,only reporting what he told me.

Hmm who to believe your friend or rubber dickie, according to mr knows sod all Roberts is a done deal, dont see us getting both.

I'd rather have Maloney than Roberts...however I'd have liked Barba with him.

Interesting to see how the other names in the frame for our coaching vacancy a year ago have gone on this season:

Dean Pay: Bulldogs finished 12th with 8 wins for the season, 2 fewer than they got in 2017.
Garth Brennan: Titan finished 14th with 8 wins, 1 more than they got in 2017.
Des Hasler: out of a job all year but looks set to return to Manly.
Geoff Toovey: out of a job all year, linked with Manly for 2019 but looks set to be beaten to it by Hasler.
Michael McGuire: no NRL job but took the NZ job following their disastrous World Cup and just beat Australia.

Haven't pulled up any trees have they. Guess we'll never know how things would have panned out in 2018 with a different coach at our helm, but I would have been happy with fourth and making two finals with any of the above in that role. SP has ticked a good few boxes so far, let's hope he completes the set in the future.

Austin with either KB and/or DP will be more than enough to beat the bin dippers and pies

Our pack got us to two finals, we need creativity. There's a lot of pressure and expectancy for Austin to deliver, as I've no belief in either Brown or Patton's ability to deliver when it matters.
