The trouble is that some sad cases believe almost everything they read and worse still pass it on as fact. Very unfair on the club. It does not help Wire or the game. Pathetic really.

I'm minded to agree. Based on last week's performance, who would you drop to make way for Cooper? Cooper may have been the most consistent prop this year but last week's result was a team effort from 1 -17. Dropping someone after that probably sends the wrong message and, given the expected temperatures this weekend, I expect that Walker will be the only change rather than play an additional prop.

Normally I am an advocate of an extra forward who can do a short stint at hooker, but with the hot conditions, Walker against tired opposition forwards could be good.

I guess it's between Davis and Walker

Has never once refused to play had Covid last week. Expected to be in the squad this week and Powell didn’t tell him he wasn’t playing till the squad was announced. Went to speak to Powell and DP said that he lied about Covid even though it was the clubs doctors who had done the test. Then Powell said he’d never play for Wire again and that he was speaking to Wigan behind Coops back to try and get a deal done immediately.

Quite obviously, it’s a family member making sure Mike’s reputation is not tarnished any more than some of the idiots on here are trying to do.

No doubting Mike gave everything for the club, as you’d expect.

So it it was definitely one of Cooper's family members. So that's cleared that up then.

We don't know the ins and outs of what has gone on behind the scenes, but Cooper has a long track record with us and it isn't a track record of being a "troublemaker". He wasn't a problem for Cullen, TS or Price. He's been signed by Wigan for next year, who have one of if not the most professional set up in the game, and whatever things are causing a dispute between him and Powell are obviously not a problem for Wigan.

So, in the absence of knowing more information on what has gone on on the inside here, it seems to me like something has gone very wrong if the relationship with a long standing respected professional like Cooper has deteriorated.

Also disappointing that some Wire fans are slagging him off based on forum rumours. Cooper has contributed more to Wire than any other home grown product since Mike Gregory in the 80s. He's the most significant player to come out of our Academy for 30 odd years.

So for me he holds the very highest status of Wire players, whatever happens now for the rest of his career. If he goes to Wigan and wins a Grand Final with them good luck to him as that would be a fitting way to cap off his career.
