| As a club we’ve never had that ‘ruthless killer instinct’ to get the job done and that’s even more evident off the field then it is on it.

I mean to have that never say die attitude, to be a born winner, to never know when you’re beaten and to give everything and leave everything on the pitch. We don’t have that. Never have.

I enjoyed looking at the "overall league". Saints results have been superb. They have had very few lean years. Biggest surprise was seeing that Bradford were so high.

| We've got the players, the facilities and great financial backing. What we seem to lack is leadership and a game plan, Price continually makes strange decisions and incorrect decisions. It comes across that he is unsure most of the time which is not great for a head coach. He clearly can't get the best out of the players consistantly and our attack is dire. Now this has been an awful year and mentality very difficult and people handle it differently. If (Touch wood) Things go back to normal by mid next year and players get there heads right it might be a completely different ball game for us.
But the fact we hit these big slumps and nothing changes points to the coaches for me, all of them. For me if things don't change next year with the roster being as good as it is, then a coach change is 100% needed.
I genuinely hope from now til the start of the season a proper plan of action is taken with regards to our attack, if we can get that working our defence is already there so we should click into a frightening gear.
I believe next year will be a big year for us and i can't wait for the new season already. Life gets back to normal and we are crowned champions is what 2021 holds for us

Austen is not naturally a creative half back (his passing isn't quite there). Widdop is not naturally a half back.
So we are asking Austen to play a game he is not suited to and this is the nub of our problems on attack.
If we had someone like 1. Jackson-Hastings, 2. Sezer or 3. Gayle ... then I would be much more confident.

If only we had a coach and team who could deliver a win percentage of over 70% over the course of a season you'd imagine that would placate the never happy with life brigade.

Austin has no kicking game and widdop does so naturally we have Austin taking charge of the majority of our last tackle kicks! That's atrocious coaching in my book. IF it's the players insisting that's the way they want to play the coach has to step in, tell them that they're wrong and let the post match analysis prove him right. I suspect its an instruction coming from the coaches though. Widdop is a more creative half than Austin and Austin needs to be freed up to do what he is best at which is finding gaps and attacking the opposition line with ball in hand.
The squad we have assembled has been wasted, a lack of props hasn't helped but tactics haven't got the best out of what we do have.

| Another question that springs to mind is Sita under Price. Is he just not good enough or can Price not coach him correctly? I'll admit I've got a little soft spot for Sita, but is there a reason he's not a) getting game time and b) not being conditioned to do longer minutes or is he just plain not good enough.
He's got the frame of a prop and with a cardio based off season could he become more than the "10 minute prop" Karl has alluded to.

When we had BMM & Philbin & Sita on the bench I think most sides were quite envious of us. The Sky Pundits & the BBC used to get very excited about their potential to rev things up.

I thought it was pretty well known why Sita fell out of favour. Then when he gets a chance he gets a stupid suspension.
Hopefully the 12th Super League team needs some size and take him off our hands.

I think there is definitely some question over the coaching of sita but he has to shoulder some accountability surely? I can't imagine he hasn't been told he needs to be able to manage 30 to 40 minutes and yet he isn't there. He also has a poor disciplinary record too, I do think he's a marked man by the refs but he has to take responsibility for his actions and clean it up. His attitude has to come in to question a bit, if all he can manage is 10 minutes he's responsible for making as big a positive contribution as possible for that time and he doesn't really, his impact lessens after 4 or 5 carries. He needs to work on his fitness, he has had quite a bit of time to become an important part of the team. I have a soft spot too but Karl F is right it's no good to us if he can only manage 10 minutes.

| I don’t understand the love for Sita. If ever a player was master of their own destiny it was him with us. Had a lot of goodwill at the start done nothing of note and somehow that is laid at the door of the coach. Some of the same people who post about “never say die attitude” and “give 100%” seem to support him. Baffling.
Ps he comes across as a lovely bloke, but that is not enough.

| Quote ="The Speculator"Hull certainly played a better match than us when it mattered. I guess the point I was trying to make was that there are lots of elements that go towards deciding the outcome of a game, and player size is merely one of them. If that was all that mattered, the biggest team would always win, but they don't. In last year's Challenge Cup final, Saints had a bigger bench than us, with LMS, Lees and Amor, but we still beat them. That said, a bigger bench would still be helpful!'"
You need to look again at the team size in height and weight....Wire were way bigger than Saints man for man than perhaps Warmsley....and it showed.

Price has to shoulder a lot of the blame if he does not want Sita at Warrington.
He was the coach when Sita was was given an extended contract.
.Price had the opportunity to get shut, but didn`t.,

I'm assuming Sita is conditioned broadly in the same way as Cooper, Hill, Philbin etc. yet he seems totally lacking in stamina in comparison. I know some plauers are better trainers and more naturally fit than others but in Akuolas case I suspect he is doing the absolute minimum.

| Agree with many others here who say lack of quality coaching and tactical nous is probably the main problem, rather than lack of determination.
We've had plenty of determination over the years, often results in headless chickens if you're not signing the right players and you've not got the right discipline and coaching.

When it came to stamina, Bob Eccles was the Grandaddy of them all.
Used to sprint 100 yards for tries in the last minute, in even time, when everyone else was knackered.

| Think of a Warrington team that you could realistically expect to be Grand Final winners, and ask yourself would Sita be in it?
How many of these would be in it: Mamo, Brand, Widdop, Patton, Latu, Jason Clark?

Mamo at a push would be the only one out of those.

It smacks of those “talent” shows where the judges tell a tone deaf kid that “if you want something enough you can achieve it”.
The current problem isn’t “ mentality” whatever that might mean, it’s coaching.
