What if you couldn't get the day off though, what if someone was already off?
I'm not able to get Friday off to travel to London because a colleague of mine booked her holidays as soon as the new allocation came out as it's her son's birthday. As I didn't know for a few months that I was going to go the final, by the time it come to book the day off, the team member allocation was already filled. Now I have to travel on Friday evening, and techincally will only get a day and a half away and I'll miss a lot of the Friday afternoon banter that we normally get on CC Final weekend.
It's not as easy as just saying to your boss, "oh, can I book such and such a day off"? When you work in an office with mostly women who have young children like I do, it's a fooking nuisence to book time off because they book half term, summer, christmas etc.
I'm lucky that I don't have to work weekends. Unfortunately for Foz, he does work weekends so I assume that if Wire play on Saturdays, he will need to take holidays from his allowance which can be a nightmare as I'm sure his little girl has more priority.
Anyway, just on a side note, the attitude of some posters on this forum absolutely stinks.

WFIII you have just summed up exactly what I feel about the matter. I don't understand what some people's attitude problem is for. People are allowed to express disappointment about the RFL's choice of fixture timing without morons jumping down their throats. Everyone has had a good moan and expressed their opinions about the timing of Millenium Magic weekend, what's the difference??

Please read the little note underneath the play off game times
Fri 10 Sept 7:30pm Play Off Match: 1st Place v 4th Place LIVE Kick Off 8:00pm -
Sat 11 Sept 3:25pm Play Off Match: 2nd Place v 3rd Place LIVE Kick Off 3:30pm -
Sat 11 Sept " Play Off Match: 5th Place v 8th Place LIVE Kick Off 5:45pm -
Sun 12 Sept 6:30pm Play Off Match: 6th Place v 7th Place LIVE Kick Off 6:45pm -
[size=150Note: The above play off games are likely to change from the plan shown. [/size
Wigan Athletic are playing on the Saturday so there is no way that Uncle Dave will allow Wigan to play on the pitch Friday night so it slooking good for Wigans game to be the Sunday.
I fancy us for a Friday night game at 8pm at Knowsley Road.

| Would it not make more sense to have two games on the sunday instead of Saturday as i presume less people will work on the sunday and places that are open on a sunday would close earlier so more people could make a 4pm game on a sunday rather than 3.30 on a saturday

| Speaking on injuries and Saints; I see that Paul Sculthorpe has started running Skills camps. Great buzz for these youngsters to be taught by someone who was an excellent player (in fact, it's easy to forget just how good he was). Got me thinking about some of the classes:-
9am - Light warm up
915am - Physio 101 - basics of strapping and bandaging after physical exercise
1030am - Contact drills - offloading and quick play the balls
1045am - Guide to the NW best accident and emergency wards
12pm - Lunch
1215pm - How to deal with burns caused by eating pasta and chicken too quickly
2pm - Video session - how to get the best out of reviewing past performance
215pm - Pilates class - rehabbing after hurting neck following video sessions

because the person i quoted was pointing out that an afternoon kick off for a saturday is daft...where as most weekends at least 7 premier league football teams and almost all championship clubs manage to play on a saturday and attract thousands of people? can you not spot what im trying to say?
as pointed out above, somebody posted the dates ages ago...if you cant go dont blame sky/the rfl/jon clarke when its your fault for leaving it too late!
what about the people who can now attend due to it being on a saturday afternoon?

Your point is irrelevant as your talking about football which is traditionally played at those times. Rugby league in the superleague era isn't. There's the difference.

Forward planning? As soon as the fixtures were released i booked the cc final, semi final, quarter final, grand final and Magic weekend off, how many singular saturdays can i get away with working in retail? As for those that "don't count" maybe they should get a job that ties in better with the rugby if they feel like moaning. I did, until sky started messing about.

People are allowed to express disappointment at missing a game due to the RFL/Sky's choice of KO time without people like you coming down on them. I hope you jump on anyone else who expresses disappointment at the RFL/Sky's choice of timing for games.
Have you had an opinion on Millenium Magic being in Feb yet?
Oh no, wait....you can't. Opinions on KO days and times isn't allowed on here apparantely

You're allowed to express your whiny, boring opinions and he's allowed to express his obnoxious, thoughtless one in return. That's how it works.
And Saturday afternoon is as good a time as any for a rugby match.

| I think we have all got used to not all playing games on a Sunday afternoon. I have enjoyed the Friday night games (home and away), Saturday evening is nice, have the Sunday free. I personally have no problem with moving fixtures around, I know some do. I just wish they would stick to regular slots.
8 o'clock Friday
6 o'clock Saturday
They seem to be able to do this for the football. I can accept they will move fixtures to try and secure as big a TV viewing as possible to sell more adverts. However; If there is a problem with using the DW the night before the football game, Wigan should lose home advantage, they should NOT move the game for this reason. Are we back in the days of Lindsey?
I'm gutted for all the true fans on here who will not be able to go to the game, because the the world Lacrosse championship is on on Saturday night.
