| Wigan were awful because of the bite, speed and aggression in our defence. We bullied them out of their shape and gameplan.

Very true. But you'd expect a Wane-Wigan side to react to that and hit back. And if that didn't work to just hit out. They did nothing.

| I thought we looked a much more balanced team last night just with Russell at full back & Ratch at centre & it was an excellent team performance & not a bad player in sight.
Still confused with the ref's interpretation of off side at the play the ball though, Wigan got away with murder at times.

The punches on Williams on the floor? Williams took the ball up and was tackled by Sims and someone else. As he went to the floor, Sims can be seen on the replay repeatedly punching his head/face as he's defenseless on the floor.
I think fortunately for Sims the punches were very weak, he was trying to hide them as much as possible so there wasn't much back lift. I wouldn't be surprised to see him called up for a chat though.

I wouldn't have called them punches, he was definitely roughing him up with a bit of treatment on the floor and deserved a penalty but a ban?
Haven't watched the game back, did Wigan even react to that? If a Wiganer had done that to Myler, Sims and Westwood would have been right in there. Wigan just looked scared to death for most of the night.

something in the can't be d. from the second or third set you had, your forwards were taking ages to get back, on one lot you were 4 tackles in before mcilorum got back on side. Gelling was blowing out of his from very very early on as well, he shouldn't have been picked.

It was Sims and Clarke in the tackle. You can see him throw two punches at the guy. Yes they were soft and i don't think he connected. Be interesting to see if anything comes of it but with RFL's disciplinary panel being odd who knows it could either be a ban or not even picked up on. Your right about if it had been one our lads then it would gone off. Wigan tried to get aggressive and we just dealt with it with controlled aggression and proper hits. The hit from Sims on this tackle was incredible.

Ref certainly didnt help his case last night. Very often either the ref or the PTB was on a line and it was clear that the ref had retreated 12 metres. That thing was supposed to have been correct a few season again......10 means 10 ....OR if you are in front of the ref, you are offside, even if he has gone back 15.

i think this hit was a repayment on the shot tomkins put on the kicker just prior to that. WTF you want your stand off taking a twenty metre restart to the middle of our pack.
Crazy.

| All this forum talk about Sims roughing it up is exactly what Pies do every week.
Wane in his own way gave credit to us about it, "they won the floor".
Thank you Mr Wane.

| Well I confidently predicted a sound thrashing by Wigan given we have been really struggling with injuries and only 2-3 players really being in form.
I'm happy to say I must eat humble pie and say I was completely wrong.
Even though Wigan hadn't been playing well recently they had more time to prepare and a bigger fit squad to chose from.
But the attitude and commitment shown by every Wolves player was outstanding.
For me TS got one over on Wane with the inspired interchange bringing Dwyer on 5 mins before half time. Simply magnificent.
The brain fart from Russell luckily was nullified by some inspired defence by Atkins (not my favourite player).
Atkins's couple of errors with ball in hand (after the Philbin break and passing to Ormsby giving him no option but to be bundled into touch) were more than made up by his defensive efforts, and his contribution to the try (yes the scoring but also pointing out that Tomkins(?) had moved out of position leaving a hole to Dwyer).
We pressurized Wigan into errors and played very agressively (for me I didn't like some of Sim's actions BUT that is what Wigan do time and time again and get away with it and it was good to give them some of their own medicine).
Westwood had a great game as did Wilde (especially in his 1st first team game).
Concerned about some of the knocks the guys took - Ratch, Russell, King, Harrison.
Well done.

| Good win guys.....
But i'm surprised not many here, except Saddened a Wigan critic of the highest order, feel that Mr Sims was a little out of order... You all seem to have missed the incident... Punches to the head of an injured player.

If you watch the game back on TV, you'll see slaps, punches, cannonball tackles, all sorts.
Just because the Pie chipped a nail and stayed down we saw the replay more from different angles at slow speed. I guarantee you'd see plenty of punches being thrown in the ruck if you watched every collision in that match.
And I've gotta say it.. a Pie whining about dirty play! Best joke all week! Behind Wigan's performance last night of course..

| The pictures are inconclusive but the action looks to have some intent.
The video doesn't prove he chined him.
I don't know how this will pan out.

| Leeds v Saints SL live
Saints can't live with Leeds. Sir Kev makes so much difference when he starts.
I think this game will have a bearing on the outcome of the cc semi.
I honestly can't see Saints beating leeds even if we were playing until next Friday.

| Most on here may be aware of this, but if you aren't;
The game is available to watch on a popular video sharing website. Just go on and search for 'Super League XX 2015 Round 20'. The game has been uploaded in two separate halves, I'm going to watch it back now, as I don't have Sky I haven't seen the TV coverage yet.

| Just got round to re-watching Thursday's game
Wire
Superb attitude from 1-17
That Sims/Clark incident. STUPID from Sims. As for Clark, I can neither condemn or condone. Simply, if the RFL are getting keen on this "undue pressure" thing, they're going to have to investigate about 30 incidents per game.
Wilde. Fine debut
Dwyer. WTF did we let him go out on loan? We all knew Higham wasn't getting any younger, and Dwyer was already his equal (imo)
The Officials
Thaler kept the worst 10m I've seen in many a season.
What was he doing, not giving a sin-binning, for the grubber effort of Dwyer
Touch judges missed loads of forward passes, not to mention a perfectly legitimate conversion.
Thugs
That's one of the worst Wigan "displays" I've seen since that season they cheated to avoid relegation.
Cackybumbum really is a bottom sausage. It's a relief for him, that the game is so sanitised, and there's very little biff. Had he existed in the hardman days of Boyd and Tamati, he'd be as quiet as a church mouse.
Gelling and TomkinsJ, who destroyed us earlier in the season, were anonymous.
Taupai
However, they made big meters with their sets of 6 (when they didn't drop the ball).
I've just needed to use the dictionary, to get the correct spelling for the word ordinary, and there was a picture of Dom Crosby
Apeman's interview "you need a strong ref when you come here......but they wuz allowed to do that...I have no complaints" ... really? and then there was his Apeman cliché bingo "poooer" "outenthused" "not for me"
