They don't even take more than a fiver a year off the "working man" (not a bad return, considering all the foreign tourists that this country attracts, who spend their Yen/Dollar etc over here).

They probably don't want the country to watch this "sham" (why is it a sham....it's a bloke and his long standing girlfriend wanting to get married - were your parents' marriage a sham, Sir Adrian Morley, or is that just something the "upperclass" have - sham marriages) . They've probably had enough of cameras forced into their faces. They're obliged to have it done, when it's the future king getting wed.

...and by the way, I'm in no way, a fan of the Royal family...I just let them get on with it, and not get myself stressed over a family I'll never, or have any intention of, meeting.

I quite like the Royals myself, at least theses two have a bit of class about them and if it keeps tools like Jordan, Peter Andre, Cheryl Cole and a load of half brain dead football players off the news pages then thats fine by me.

Now Phil The Greek makes me laugh, he should have his own tv show, he is so un-PC. But his comments about Dunblane show just how crass and insular he is.

so theres no recession,where have you been mate on a holiday to mars...people losing there jobs,the average wage de-creasing each year..bills rising alarmingly me and the family only having 1 holiday a year::disgraceful as for this up and coming wedding it is a sham nothing can convince me of anything less..can you imagine these 2 snuggling down and watching a porn dvd.no can you imagine him ringing up his mates and saying lets go out and get ed.no or even her saying that.no..remember they are not like us normal human beings thats for me it is why its a sham..you sit and watch and wave your flag,try not to cringe much when soft lad says I DO

If you bothered to read my post, I wont be watching (apart from 2 mins, to have a gawp at Kate), as I've no interest in the Royal family, so I wont be waving a flag.

If you don't like the idea of the Royal wedding, I suggest that you say to your employer "you know what, boss. I don't want that day off in lieu I'm entitled to, because I want to make a stand against it". I'm guessing you wont. But if you do, WELL DONE, and while you're at it, ask your boss to take that HUGE chip off each shoulder you obviously have, simply because (I'm summising here), the Royals are privillaged.

Either

a) The future King of England decided to propose and get married in April to cheer the country up; or

Biscuit, I bought Mrs Goldblatt a copy of Duke of Hazard: The Wit and Wisdom of Prince Philip, from a shop in town, a year or so back. She finds Phil the Greek, hilarious. The book's not a bad read, too. He doesn't half put his foot in it.

also this week when he stood up to do his tea round he recalled a conversation from his South Africa days and he put on a south African accent and promtly said "you pommies are so lazy you cant even get the Bliks (black people) to make tea for you...." and then Walked off to the brew room laughing

The thing you have to remember about white South Africans, is they are Africans. If you don't like racism, Africa is not a good place. In SA the Xhosa hate the Zulus, in Zim the Shona hate the Ndebele, and the black on black hatred is more venomous than the non-pc dismissive comments of the Afrikaners. The level of xenophobia over there is frightening, in townships if they find out somebody is actually from Mozambique or Angola they are likely to kill him and his family. I remember thinking that maybe colonialism had been responsible for divide and rule but tribal violence goes back way before the white colonials got there. Africa is a tough place and whilst I'm not endorsing apartheid or some of the non pc stuff you will hear from Afrikaners, they come from a tough and violent society, and they are also peed off with affirmative action quotas in SA.
