I am a Warrington fan, I have been for 50 years, so if they appointed Ronald McDonald & the Hamburglar as our coaching team, I'd still support my team....

.....but that doesn't mean that I'd be happy with the appointments from the get go, and that's the same feeling I have with Burgess & Long (although Burgess gets a bit of leeway coz I grew up on Burgess Avenue!)

I don't mind it at all if true. I don't think in this moment we're the big draw some of you think we are, so a top name successful coach was always very unlikely. So then what's next - an at best average coach with proven averageness or a punt on someone who could be great?

Of course it could be a disaster only time will tell, i just pray at the very least whoever comes in instills some minimum levels of fitness, team ethic and professionalism.

And that’s the thing none of us know, had it been an experienced coach it’s easier to give an opinion of yes or no. We are in limbo Great player but no real experience of coaching so people are nervous.

Yeah totally, we are in limbo. Every appointment is a gamble really.... but we're not getting a top aus coach, or a wane or anyone like that at the moment. Out of the experienced coaches we might possibly be able to get at this time non of them are exactly confidence inspiring, so I'd rather take a punt. It's not the appointment I'd hoped for like but I don't see us having any better alternatives. Which is a sad state of affairs really but its where we are at the moment

Steve McNamara would be a good shout. Has found a good mix of trusted / seasoned professionals whilst progressively introducing the young local talent.

Clearly knows when to jettison under-achievers too ... Drinkwater, Dudson & Kasiano spring to mind to make that point.

Be interesting to see the names linked with the Cas job…

I agree he's doing a great job. But why on earth would he leave to come to us?

He's the only current SL coach I would take. The only reason he would leave Perpignan though would be for lots of cash you would think.

Or I suppose for a return to the UK, but I sense he wouldn’t want to do that until his jobs complete at Catalan, that probably means a Grand Final win.

Catalan could comfortably match whatever we wanted to pay for McNamara, so I don’t think money would be a factor.

Duno, I assume he's already paid well and if he's settled and embraced that lifestyle it's a hard sell. Of course everyone has their price but would we or should we pay him crazy money? I don't know the answers but yes I rate him as someone who could do really well for us

Shame he can't come earlier to give em a bit of a rocket as, like Moe said, I think that ends any tiny hope of doing anything this season. Hope they at least give it a real dig, but can't see it.

No, not as far as I'm aware, although that doesn't mean Sean Long can't be approached and appointed. It's just one of the many crazy rumours that's spread over the past week.
