I was wandering if there was a 'catalogue' I could peruse which offers "acceptable" clothing to wear to attend matches. I checked my flip-flops and they are indeed Havaiana but the Hi-tech socks I wore with them may fall short of "acceptable"

Being the wrong side of 50 and a recent RL convert who brings two kids to the matches I dont know much about 'tradition'. So if I want to I bounce, sing, shout, call the referree a '*****' and let off steam for two hours. Then I go home, smile at the wife and thinkabouyt what I will be doing at work next week.

I'm gonna be wild and wear colours if we make the Grand Final. I bought one of those three quid iron on badges in the club shop last week that my bird is going to lovingly attach to a Harrington jacket for me.

It's acceptable to step out of the ordinary on the big occassion in my opinion.

I certainly won't be joining in with a chant that originally began (by Rangers) with the line, "If you cannae dae the bouncy you're a Tim" though. I am a Tim, so that's the end of that.

Dont get me going again on that Wigan chant- my post got removed last time I refered to it. Its the most boring chant I have ever heard at a sporting fixture.

No problem with any of it, I thought the atmosphere was top on Friday BUT for the love of god please don't copy that god dam inane Wigan song that has absolutely no meaning and is nothing more than noise.

Set the trend dont follow then fowl fellows from down the road.

The Wigan 'song' suits them just fine, no words just a constant drone which is perfect as most wouldn't be able to remember them anyway.

Tbh I don't get why anyone would try to copy it! No words ti change and clearly already associated with Wigan so to just do the same is embarrassing. (Similar where just one word I.e. Name Chsnged IMO).

I was thinking yesterday about my disdain for the bouncing, but thinking back to discoing at the back of the Fletcher Street or Stretford End (left side).

I think the difference was the disco was done by 15-20 year olds, all stood together because they were abit bored before the match or during a lull in the atmosphere and it was a bit of a laugh bumping in to each other and falling down the terrace. The older lot certainly wouldn't join in and would look at you like you had just walking through their house with dog mud on your shoes.

It was never done in a way to improve the atmosphere and no one would have claimed it did. Neither would we all sing about what we were about to do, pat ourselves on the back for being so good and then go around afterwards asking everybody if they saw us doing it, desperately seeking approval.

It's the same with the Poznan compared with how Lech Poznan do it and what it means to them.
