| Quote ="i hate pies"yet weve had at least 10,000 in every single league game i think, and the reason it hasnt sold out is purely down to the lack of away numbers. i would bet that only wigan and saints bring at least 1,000 and they are the two fixtures that sell out. the next best is probably hull kr with about 7-800, the rest probably below 500. poor away following is a big factor. the nort east and south are pretty much full every game.'"
Yes, your correct. Only Crusaders we had an attendance lower than 10,00 and that was something like 9,900.
But I honestly think we've expanded too early. But maybe they're expecting a serge in supporters when we win the GF

It probably wont. The NE corner is being done first and by the time they get round to the SE the season will be over.
As for why are we expanding when we dont fill, and average gates only etc etc. If you follow that mentality why did we move to a new stadium with a capacity over 5000!

you maybe correct that its too early, time will tell. however, our crowds are on the up and have been over the last few years, so assuming that continues and we have more success then it will be the correct decision. also, i believe we will sell out the 15,000 capacity for the wigan/saints games, big cup games, and even if it is only 2 or 3 times a year, it will be worth it. plus the club are obviously in a financial position to expand without needing sell outs every game, or they wouldnt be doing it. i honestly think that 13,000 is too small of a crowd for the wigan and saints games so even if its just those two that have 15,000, it will be worth it IMO.

| Quote ="Moving Forward"Lets not get carried away with expansions yet, we need to be filling 15,000 every week before we expand to 18,000.
There's no point having empty seats. We didn't make 12,000 in 8 of our 10 games so far this year, but i can see a full house with Wigan in town in a few weeks. We've got Bradford, Wakefield and Wigin left and Bradford and Wakey won't bring all that many. I personally don't see the point in expanding when we're not making 12,000 in 10 of our 13 SL home games.
We had Wigin, Swinton and Keighley in't CC and only one of those games reached over 12,000. Not good enough to expand IMO.'"
Although we can't fill the stadium, filling in the corners it will helps attendances as the south stand is the most popular so by making more space in there it may attract supporters who may not want to sit down or be in the away end. Or if it doesn't attract more supporters we may have enough space to avoid the yellow lines

| Our attendances are on the up, so only time will tell if we have made the correct decision or not.
The Yellow areas will be stood on the same as they are with the 1 announcer trying to move 1000 people from an area with a tannoy will never work

| Great to see you expanding the HJ stadium, as a Saints fan its one of my favourite away grounds already, I do love the atmosphere that terracing produces. Can't wait for you lot to visit our new place too. I am sure you will get allocated over 4.5k for your visits, should create a great atmosphere.

How many is it to hold?
I do hope we get 4.5k like you say because that would be sold out in no time.
I hope we get you 2nd'3rd game of season, because you lot won't loose your first game in a new stadium.

| What state will the stadium be in for the Aus v NZ game? Seems a strange decision to plan an important international when major building work is going on.

| Think we need to push the capacity to over 25k, gotta be able to fit all these wigan fans in, already for this semi final over 5k have been snapped up in less than 4 days....how impressive is that.

The south stand has been filled more often than not I believe, so great idea making more space available for people like me who don't have a season ticket and can only commit to going to games at the last minute, but don't want to sit/stand behind the posts...

We're only making it bigger to stop Wigan fans crying that it's too small
Seriously though i'd say the North, South and East fill most weeks just the away end doesn't fill.

I agree, regarding the seating bit anyway, we have enough seats... But, and as somebody said earlier, when we moved from Wilderspool, was it really necessary for a crap team to have a 14000 capacity stadium? We're a bit better, so attendances should increase...
It's our stadium, we'll do what we want

| Over the last week I have realised how good the HJ is as regards location and size.
Firstly before and after the wigan game, the town centre was buzzing. Shirts everywhere, in the pubs, shops and eateries. Imagine if the stadium was in an edge of town or shopping park location, eg KC, DW, Odsal, Salfords new place.
Secondly, the game at the KC last night showed how a stadium can be too big for the sport. Over 11000 there but it was like a morgue, and row upon row of empty seats.
For once last week, I decided to go the match by public transport. One bus and a 5 minute walk, superb.

Excluding the cup games the South Stand has only had more than 150 tickets left on once. Its sold out on 7 or 8 occassions.

That's the difference having the stadium in the town centre rather than out of town. Salford are looking to improve attendances following what we did, but their problem is the location of the stadium @ Barton which means most people having to go by car rather than walk/public transport - can't see it happening myself.
The other good thing with our stadium location is the benefit to the rest of the town with increased revenue to the pubs/shops etc

Bang on, TF
Great location for ALL
[uUs Wire speccies[/u
close to town centre and pubs (though some are pooh-holes)
Couple of minutes walk to taxi rank/bus station
central location
[uAway speccies[/u
Close to town centre for those who want to spend their dosh in our town
Central Station (most away fan's teams served by this station)
Big carpark next to ground
You wouldn't have any of this, if we'd have made the hair-brained decision to go to Limekiln (I think it was called) in Burtonwood. It would've been OK for the banjo pluckers, and that's it. It would've almost been like an away game.

Seems a strange decision to play a major RL international in Warrington in the first place, not that I'm complaining.

I heard they are using one of the "obsolete" gates from the east end of the ground in that corner (think somebody got a bit heavy handed when making the hole for them). The club will need access for emergency vehicle if ever there is a major incident inside the ground so they will probable put a diagonal wall across that corner.
