It will NOT be the Carnegie super league, the university has lost most of it's money and struggles to work on the budget they have now in the advertising department, a mate of mine who is at the uni with me did his dissertation on the carnegie branding of the CC and the likes, and he got a lot of very good info, which basically said the uni can't afford to sponsor the CC anymore but will still continue to, and the fees being raised are outrageous.

I paid 2,000 for each of my 3 years at uni, and wouln't have even considered Leeds Met at 8,500 per year. Most of the student's there complain that we don't get 2,000 a year's worth, so i can't imagine how ripped off i would feel if i had to pay 8,500.

Something scummy like the sun it'll end up being. It seems that paper is getting more and more 'up the a*se' of SL.

If the rfl want to push the super league brand,then you need a quality sponser to go with it.

Accordinig to the Times business section, Superleague is the second most watched sport on Sky after footie.
Some attraction there for a big name sponsor, surely.

Unis are getting no more money than before. Its simply that the students will be paying for the courses instead of the Dept of Education.

I'm NOT having a dig here, but it may stop some of these impressionable 16 year-olds, thinking that Uni is a MUST-DO thing.
Surely, a good deal of these courses can be done at night-school
I mean, I was listening to a well known pop-quiz on national radio the other month, and the contestant was asked (in the getting to know you, bit)
"what have you been upto lately"
"ohhh, I've just dropped my daughter off. She's just starting at uni"
"oh that's nice...what's she studying"

Why do so many people HAVE to go to uni, when these courses surely must be available at a Tech college, at (now) a fraction of the cost...plus, they could be earning in the meantime...???


Anyway, back on thread. Some good names have come up, and an interesting fact from Richeastender...that's a good bargaining tool for the RFL.
