He's 28

He plays both centre and wing. In the NRL he's played approx 2/3 of his games in the centres and 1/3 on the wing. For NSW in Origin he played in the centres and for the Aussies he was on the wing in the 2008 World Cup.

He has been a pretty prolific try scorer through his NRL career. He used to play alongside Adam Mogg with the Raiders, before Mogg came to Catalans and over here people rated Mogg as a top player....IMO Joel Monaghan was a better player than Mogg was.

Manly: 42 tries in 93 games (0.452)
Total: 78 tries in 194 games (0.402)

J MONAGHAN
Canberra: 69 tries in 129 games (0.535)
Sydney: 23 tries in 44 games (0.523)
Total: 92 tries in 173 (0.532)

JM also played 2 games for NSW (didn't score any tries) and 5 Tests for Australia (scored 4 tries).

When the Aussies smashed us 52-4 in Melbourne, to knock us out of the World Cup, Monaghan was in their backline of Slater; J Monaghan, Inglis, Folau, Tate

I think this signing will see the Wolfs take a lead in SL next season.

And Joey Johns didn't get caught with Ecstacy until over 12 months after he guested at Warrington so wheres the double standards ? i think we'll struggle out wide this season. 2 aussie test winger/centres, 2 england centre/wingers, an aussie test fullback. simon moran/tony smith what were you thinking ?

Add Chirs Riley into the equation and I think TS has some selection problems next season. A great position to be in.

I'd be curious to see how well Monaghan goes, if he gets his feet early you might see him displace one of the centres possibly?
