| Overall, a good win. It was the kind of really tight game that I would have expected us to throw away a couple of years ago. It's really encouraging that we can grind out these results and win without ever playing brilliantly.
Then again, it was never in doubt from the moment the Margin Meter had Wigan to win by 18.

| The only things that stood out tonight, were;
1/ Wigan played an awful lot better when Hock was involved.
2/ Warrington will be absolutely bolloxed when Briers retires. Unless Gaz o'Brien comes through. We have nothing to offer in the halves. Yet again, Myler went missing, meaning, Briers had to do far too much work in defence.

| Sorry but disagree,
Okay Myler didnt run the game like Briers did/does but his defence was cracking tonight, when you have someone like Lee in the middle running it like he does its sometimes harder to have two doing it. Maybe Myler stepping up once Lee is off the field is when we should judge that part of this game.

For me, there's no such thing as "didn't deserve to win". If you take your chances and get the points on the board that your opponents don't, you deserve to win. Even if your opponents dominate possession, territory, chances to score, style of play etc. if they don't convert that to points then they are the ones who didn't deserve to win.
Wire weren't great tonight but we defended well in our line and scored more points. We won and deserved to.

rugby is not just about attacking its about defending and mylers defence was superb,,cant fault the lad and he did lay on the final pass for atkins for his try....

That's a bit harsh.
Myler's defence has improved massively, and I didn’t think he was as fault too many times tonight. 6, 7 and 9 (and 1) haven’t clicked so far this season, for me this is the reason we’ve been a bit off our game. We’ll done for picking the easy target.

| myler is a different player to briers.... and when briers finally hangs up his magic smith will probably recruit a quality 6 from somewhere else.
there is no replacing a player like briers though..... he is just pure class.

| I thought our first try [Atkins was a brillant disguised pass from Myler, he shapes to throw it wide to the winger, brings his arms right back and softly floats it to Ryan.

Myler is just far too lazy, and does not get involved enough. He's a HB ffs, not a fb.
7 minutes+ it took for him to get involved tonight. Just not good enough. A weak link who can get away with it in a good team.
like I said, we're bolloxed when Briers retires, unless o'Brien comes through.

| Anyone have an idea as to why Stuart Pearce was sat with God and then in the dressing room at half time??
Is he are secret new No6 to replace Lee or to replace Brett for kicking over the bar!!

| Whilst Myler doesn't control the game, a la Briers, he brings his own interpretation to our style.
The organisation part of his game will come, when Briers retires. You can't have 2 generals on the pitch, at the same time. There's a good chan ce you'll end up with chaos.
We've invested a LOT of money in this YOUNG lad, and, up to now, he's not done a lot wrong.
LAY OFF HIM!

For a huge part of that 7 mins, we hardly had the ball (especially in an attacking zone).
I hope that helps.
FFS. Only in Warrington.

| Totally agree with Lefty G. No idea how anyone can criticise Myler tonight, we hardly had the bleeding ball. Sort of a prerequisite for a fine scrum-half display.
He defended like a Trojan, just like everyone else out there in red and black.

| Not a Myler fan to be honest but I thought he had a decent game tonight .....
He's not a weak link in defence which isnt bad going for a small young half back...
oh and remember when People used to compare Who was the better half back Myler or Tomkins...........
Well there is key skill required for a half back and its knowing when to pass to a man in support or to a man outside his opposite defender., or when to keep hold of the ball
which one did that better tonight.............
Sam Tomkins is the best Broken field runner in the game but he isnt comfortable under the high ball, and his decision making is piddle poor and his kicking game is hopeless........maybe if Myler had been mostly Shit but ALMOST scored a try of the Season he'd be being raved about.....??
only Bridge was poor for me tonight.

| I totally agree with every word of that next to last paragraph, biscuit.
Whilst Tomkins is a frightening prospect, ball in hand, I just don't see him as a 'team player'.
One slight aside, a HUGE loss for Wigan this season, is that 2nd rower, Hoffman (iirc, his name). Hansen and Hock aren't even close.
