Les Boyd is an obvious one and Andy Gregory was no soft touch either - remember the New Years Day battle 1988 ( the game where Cull got sent off for fighting with Andy Goodway ). Probably one of the toughest I remember playing for us was Les Davidson - cam over with a massive rep for being nails and never disappointed.

The worse facial injury ive ever seen in rugby league was the one suffered by Paul Deacon against the Kiwis where Nigel Vagana caught him with a swinging arm to the face, the injuries were described as car crash type injuries by Professor Chris Brooks. Brian Noble said the injuries were life threatening on the night.
Paul Deacon is one tough cookie to come back from those injuries.
