This wasnt the problem though. the problme was not enough turnstiles open. Im certain that come the St Helens game ALL the turnstiles will be open because expectation will dictate it will be sell-out

Why were only two open? Is that true? There are turnstyles at each side of the West Stand.

did someone choose to believe the BBC website attendance instead of someone who saw a pretty much full stadium and heard the announcement of the attendance as Ten thousand five hundred....?

I was stuck in the queue also and I was there 10 mins before KO. Stewards absolutely useless, I suggested they let people in with tickets through the latecomers gate but that was obviously too "out of the box" for them.

I would like to thank that kind female Castleford fan who gave my daughter a free ticket.

Sportinglife has it as 7,577.

It would have saved a lot of queuing though. Maybe they should operate a system where one set of fans enter from one side and the others enter from the other.

Either way, it's over but to hear one of your fans complaining that it's been like that for the past 3/4 games is worrying.

Surely the BBC and Sporting Life can't be wrong .... or is it a case that your media bod provided the wrong info to the media? Anyway give you the benefit of the doubt ... there were 10,500 .... no lets pretend it was a capacity crowd .... surely it can't be so hard to count so few fans

i don't know why alot of the different sites have the attendance as around 7K, it was deffo 10,500 from what i heard by the announcer,im sure a cas fan would verify this too?

My guess is they were all lazy in the press area thought it was 7,557 and all copied each other instead of actually looking around a mostly full ground.

Press Association have reported it wrong as it was a) announced as 10xxx and b) almost full.

Not sure why we feel the need to have to defend it to be honest.

They probably all use the same news agency, which could account for it.

Its was rather funny seeing the pies trying to mock something that wasn't even true and then carry on mocking it after being told it wasn't true and then go rather quiet.

I have to admit i was annoyed at having to queue for 35 minutes, but there was no way there was 7500 there, 10500 is more like it
