Well if so, that kind of makes the current situation rather worse. I'm not convinced they all do.

See where you are coming from and your argument has some merit but you could argue that the purpose of an open letter is to encourage discussion and debate especially when displayed on a website which allows for comments and feedback. I think it's pretty close to a forum post to be honest. As for PSIP's well they must be the next generation SIP.

After reading the letter it sounds like the author is coming to the end of his/her tether.

It was an excellent letter. It was intelligent, reasoned and realistic. It was also constructive. Too much is said and written in open forums that have none of these qualities. You have to applaud the person mainly because it's a step in the right direction i.e away from moronic general slagging off

They are in it for the money and the money alone.

I'm with Lefty on this. Patronising populist tripe. When Melbourne Storm or Brisbane smash their opponents in the NRL its not because they are motivated by seeing some kid in the grandstand its because they are good players well coached.

Being motivated by the money is fine. Tony Smith's obviously going to have his own ideas of who he's going to bring in so only the ones who do the business for us will get new deals with us, and I can bet that any player who leaves us, is going to be on less money at his next club.

Yes but what happens when both opponents are equally good players and well coached? Motivation makes a difference.

The writer obviously took a lot of time and effort to write out his feelings. However he will end up being disappointed because the message won't get to the playing staff and coaching staff.

Desire and competitive pride.

Could well be the reason, but these players who aren't performing must have shown huge amounts of desire and competitive pride in order to become so highly regarded within the game and get to this level. They reached a level of of performance high enough to be able to secure these lucrative contracts. Why have they just suddenly stopped showing this desire when they have signed for warrington?

This is another of those tales that's got wildly blown out of proportion. It was never my intention to offer Lowes advice. I wouldn't waste a charge on him.

For the record, I simply misunderstood a conversation. I thought we'd booked Stephen Hawking as the next squadbuilder guest speaker, I was worried about access for him, so I went to the H&J early that morning, covered a giant bat in marge' and pushed it through the toilet window, easily went like. Next thing I know, I'm cuffed & put in front of some kangaroo court on a breaking & entering charge.

Contradicts itself a bit. On the one hand he's bemoaning the fact that Wire fans aren't bothered if we win stuff and then on the other states that all fans want is to see the players being as passionate as 'we' are.

Gets a bit tiresome but fair play to him for having a go. If we need letters from fans to motivate us though we really are screwed.

I agree with the letter just a shame he is trying to get the players to motivate themselves by using the fans when our fans boo the players at almost any opportunity!!

i don't know how other sets of fans treat their players (boo-wise) but i've got it in my head that part of our problem is that our players hate/have no respect for the fans and so they basically can't be bothered playing at the very highest level

yes they have got themselves to a high level, but are other teams getting to an even higher level because they are being spurred on by a mutual respect between fans and players?

So who is going to moderate the moderators trying to avoid the swear filter tut tut

That was what I was alluding to. I think respect between the players and the fans in both directions is at an all time low
