You honestly remind me of us (Leeds) at the start of last year, trying to play expansive rugby when really it just needs driven up the middle. Playing a quick offloading game is great providing your team is all in form and linking well together, but if a few key players are missing and out of form, it looks diabolical. It should rest with the coach to change the style of play to suit how the team is playing, and like what we needed to do we had to go back to basics and build up into acceptable form before throwing the ball about. The errors and discipline is almost exactly like we were.

There is still plenty time to get back on track, it's been said countless times but look at us last season it worked out well in the end. But a word of caution, plenty fans seem to be under the belief what we did last season could become a common occurrence and that any team in the top 4 could do the same thing, I'm really not convinced by this. We were blessed by the fact we had players who had been there and done that in most positions, who knew how to play play-off footy. I honestly can't see really any other teams with this experience to pull of what we did. And to give balance I wouldn't be confident we could do it again this season should we finish as low as fifth. Last year was a freak occurrence which IMO could only have happened to a team as experienced as us in that position.

how were you defending in the early part of the season though?

In terms of points conceded, they conceded 290 in their first 11 games, and we have conceded 232 after 11, so worse than us.

Very poorly, see the game against you at Headingly . In the first 12 games last season I think we only twice kept a team under 15 points.

I don't really get why Leeds being at the start of last year means that we're going to win the Grand Final, as some people on here seem to think. I do think we will get better though, we can't get much worse (hopefully).

Not heard that about Saints but it wouldn't surprise me. I don't hold any hope of seeing him back in the P&B. Warrington really did do the dirty on him.=#BFBFBFŠ

Why?

With all the doom and gloom threads around here we may as well go completely retro and have one slagging off the youth development of the club for letting all the "best" propsects leave.

im sure whatever happened is between him and the club personnel only. im sure that this will probz happen at most other clubs that certain players dont get on at certain clubs.

and he cant of been treated that badly as im sure mike cooper wouldn't just stand around and watch his own brother get treated badly by the club personnel.

Sorry for being on topic, but the age of our players is nothing to do with the here and now, it's the affect on the next 3-4 seasons that needs planning.

To compare us with Leeds last year is a non starter. They did it against the odds with better players, and players with the experience of getting to the GF, we don't. I can;t see keeping our fingers crossed to do the same being a tactic TS will use.

Last year we weren't much better. The pasting we got on Easter Monday kick started our season, hopefully this will do the same.

It seems to me that teams have sussed how to turn us over. Dennis Betts was quite open that to beat Wire you have to get in their faces first 15 mins and they crumble in defence and spend the rest of the game playing catch up and give penalties off the back of the panic. That sums us up to be fair. We need to explode in the first 10 mins and respect possession. Everything will come from that. age isn't an issue.

What's the story with him as a player, ignoring the politics? I take it he's a prop from your academy? Any good? Where did you hear Saints are after him?

No one was treated badly while still being at the club, it was more to do with what happened when he was looking for another club in Australia. Luckily he still landed on his two feet and ended up with Wynumn.

And for what it's worth, Warrington did offer Jack a contract.

It must be said that our youth set up is going from strength to strength and it shouldn't be criticised.
