| The only way Smith will go is of his own accord when he feels it's right. He is far too entrenched in the system to be given the chop. Even the new CEO has spent the last few years as his assistant.
Unfortunately there's a perceived credit bank that's been built up with the (rightly plaudited) Cup wins but that this has just been taken too far. Those few successes after such a baron period means we are blinded to the fact that we haven't really subsequently achieved what we should have, given the resources available to us. Everyone within the structure is too closely connected and when an 'old boys club' develops it's hard to let people go when necessary.
I have no problem with Smith he's a good coach and will do well in his next venture, whatever that may be. It's just that his time at Warrington is finally over and we need a fresh start with a clean slate from top to bottom in the coaching structure. The squad is more than capable talent-wise (bar a few positions).
If Cas, Salford and Wakefield can produce good quality rugby worthy of the Top 4 with seemingly previously unknown coaches, then so can we. No excuses for not competing with the resources we have.
Time for change.

That's an idea...If we sack TS and revert the title back from head of Coaching to 1st team head coach then Agar job is redundant and we can find him a role elsewhere.

| Ben Reynolds is an interesting one. That would mean we have 3 halfbacks again in 2018 - not a bad position to be in when Patton is still to put his stamp on the team and Kevin Brown is not exactly ripping it up. I have not seen enough of Reynolds to form an opinion on his abilities but £125 K if true, is a tidy sum.

Brown plays his best rugby vs Wierdnes...we could do with keeping him for the £1m flop drop.

Ben has had a good season in SL, considering he wasn't one of the first choice half backs in pre-season. (behind Ridyard and Drinkwater) He's a very hard worker, a brave player, who can take the knocks and a very accurate goal kicker. (must be up between 80 and 90%) His play making ability needs working on, as does his kicking game. Personally, I hope we hang on to him at Leigh, because he is young and has loads of potential. He had an excellent game against W***n recently and was then dropped! He had another good one in France on Saturday - I fully expect him to make way for Daniel Mortimer at yours on Friday!

| We have a catch 22 situation here, i would rather we didnt recruit while we have the coaching team we have in place now, id rather the new guy get his own squad, and here is the catch the longer it goes on the less likely we would be able to sign the players we want/need.

| Warrington - unnecessarily sign a bang average second row forward? Don't believe it. I agree Smith needs to go before he gets his dodgy, formulaic hands on next seasons rectruitment.

Castleford signed him last year, has their recruitment been poor?
Every squad needs a balance of first teamers and squad men, Larroyer would clearly fall in to the second category, and will probably take Blythes spot as I think he's out of contract?

I'm not too sure he's ever played for Tigers? I know he was loaned straight to Bradford.

He was indeed sent off to Bradford. As said below, he played a couple of games, but that's the point really, Cas didn't sign him as a first team player, they signed him to cover injuries - they've been fairly fortunate in that regard this year, so he hasn't been used. If Currie had been fit, would Julien have had the gametime he's had this year?

Yes, Hughes would have had a 'rest', but, I understand what you are saying and as a swap for Blythe seems reasonable

| He was loaned out to Bradford to get fit as he hadn't been playing. Came into the team when we had a lot of forwards injured but we have some back now and others close. Didn't get much chance in attack but very reliable in defence and a bit of a workhorse with a good engine.

I read "it's OK if it's a direct replacement for Blythe" and smiled to myself. No wonder we are gash with that attitude.

| Hodkinson Move
Trent Hodkinson has been linked with a move to Warrington
Could Trent Hodkinson be in line to replace Gidley at Warrington next year?
It's been a challenging season in the NRL for Hodkinson, and the playmaker has been linked with a move to Super League.
The Newcastle halfback played in just his eighth NRL game of the season on Sunday against the Tigers, having spent the previous seven on the bench, and it's believed he's weighing up his options.

He would be a good controlling half in SL. A good kicker too. Would be a good piece of a far from complete jigsaw. Get him signed
