I never really followed the nrl to closely, what was price record as a coach like? Surely he must have players lined up to come over before he commited to the job as to not tarnish his reputation. Hopefully a quality half back for starters

Well I'd guess that Maloney has turned us down if that rumour was actually true. Maybe by some miracle Price could convince him to come over as he worked with him at Cronulla. That deal was probably the rejected offer that KF alluded to previously at the fans forum.

Won 21 out of 58 including some embarrassing defeats. I think it's a shocking appointment personally the more I read about him. Why we've gone for him over Brennan is a mystery.

I was hoping for a renewed feeling of optimism and have been following the news with interest hoping for a clean slate and fresh start but with this appointment I just feel completely flat.

Just looked on NRL website and it is announced Pay has signed up with the Dogs for 2 years.

Every single news report on Steve Price is negative. From losing the dressing room to random starting line ups. Trying to imitate Wayne Bennet in press conferences. Heavy losses. Not able to do anything with an exceptional roster etc.

I'm sorry but his appointment is not right, before it's even begun.

Mark my words this won't last. He'll be gone before summer 2018.

Yes, let's knock the guy that stuck his hand up and accepted the challenge, if it is him and said I'll uproot everything, come over to the other side of the world and give it a go. All we can ask is that whoever comes in he does his best and is judged accordingly and that can't be before it's begun surely?

I don't know too much about him but I'm prepared to give him a chance. You never know it might work better having someone here with a point to prove? It's all conjecture but imagine if hot property Pay came here, how long would he have lasted when the NRL came knocking, there may have been a different pressure keeping him and allowing him time to build some with us

Lot's of if's and buts but I'd care because if it he was successful it would be too short lived and we'd be in the cart again looking for a coach yes we would all be happy changing staff every 6 months

I'm just annoyed thats all. I wanted so much to be positive over the appointment of a new coach after the last few years and I'm just deflated it's someone of his profile after talk of Maguire, Pay and Brennan.

Obviously he's been assistant to Bennet and Flanagan at St George and Cronulla so must have something about him but that doesn't always mean good head Coach and the one time he has been given a shot he was awful.

Let's hope he has good contacts in the game and can bring over some quality with him.
