| Quote ="Mr Snoodle"Shocking, woeful, clueless, unstructured, spineless - and how anyone can point the finger at Patton when Austin is is an overpaid Kevin brown is beyond me.
Everyone had a go at Roberts last year but Austin seems to be heading down the same path to me - please tell me what he contributes on a week to week basis, because I can't see it.
The only players who came out with any real credit tonight we're Daryl Clark & Mamo
PS - at least we used to train well under Smith, we don't even seem to do that now
PPS - this is not a knee jerk reaction, I have felt like this for a while now
Also, we are lost without Hill & Cooper, completely and utterly lost. Our forwards couldn't punch a hole in a wet paper bag'"
Mamo was garbage tonight, his kick judgement is poor, his running onto passes is poor(though austin and patton were throwing some shockers as well) and he's picking up a knock in every tackle.

Beat me to it.
You only need to look at Mamo, and he's clutching a part of his anatomy.

As usual, miaw, you speak my language.
No-one foresaw the Cooper absence, BUT, despite Westwood's obvious disciplinary issues, this game was crying out for him.
I actually thought Tasi and Akuoala opened up well. When they returned, Akuoala still offered something. Tasi was, well, just Tasi.
Price, for me, has used all his "good will". Formulaic NRL style doesn't wash with me. Our players aren't good enough to play that style. Take a few risks, for God's sake.
I'd have Livett over Currie in a heartbeat. Currie is merely [igoing through the motions[/i

But how many times over the years have we seen Leeds anywhere between average and dreadful in the regular season yet go on to win when it matters?
I’m not saying Wire will do this, this season, come the Play-offs. However I don’t take individual regular round defeats too seriously nor am I ever too downbeat about them.'"
How many times have we seen Leeds do that....plenty
How many times have we seen Wire do that....none
If we had previous at winning big games when it counted I would be more willing to take that approach of dismissing regular round defeats but we don't, therefore it just makes me more concerned.
Two questions for us to consider at this moment:
1) have we improved on the Wire of 2018?
2) would Tyrone Roberts get in the current side?
At the start of the season what would you have expected those answers to be?

| In the regular rounds, things are never as good as you think when you win and things are never as bad as you think when you lose.
There are things that many players do exactly the same in both wins and defeats. Good and bad. But you forget about the bad things when you win and forget about the good things when you lose.
The big games are coming up; let’s see how we fair then.

2) I haven’t even thought about Roberts all year really, and thinking about it, not in place of Austin, no.

| Thant was as poor a performance as I've seen for ages. No urgency, no go forward, poorly executed basics.
It looked like we just dragged 13 strangers in off Winwick St and asked them to play for us tonight. Absolutely shocking and not what I expect from a club with our financial clout.

| Matt Davis was good again tonight, i love that little , he's too small though.
Tasi again only did 1 stint, he was ok bending down to pray at the end.
Moran did ok i suppose in his debut, nothing special but nothing particularly bad.

| We're just a slightly above average team at the moment and we are getting less effective each week like we've ran out of ideas and enthusiasm. The team needs a shake up. Livett needs to come back to us he's better than both currie and Hughes and i believe he'd be better in the halves than Patton. Austin tries every week but with no runners backing him up and a 50% effective forward pack what exactly do you expect him to do. The team looks so complacent it's unreal. Bring Johnson back aswell and put him in the pack and let Westwood loose again. This formula is very very bland and needs a change quick. We're only in second at the moment because there are a lot of teams that have been awful in big patches this season where we have been slightly better. We won't win F#@k all this season with the current squad playing as they are, Jason Clark is an ok player at best from what i've seen so far this season, Matt Davis puts a lot in but never breaks a tackle or even make yards after impact. We've become so boring to watch it's unreal.

| I was at the game tonight and enjoyed it! I can understand that most of you didn’t but Salford were good and better from 1-13. Fair play to them they got stuck in and made you look very ordinary. Where are Westwood and Atkins these days? You’re crying out for them regardless of whether you think they’re past it or not. Can anybody give me a reasoned argument at what Toby King is good at? He wouldn’t make the Widnes team by a long chalk at the minute for me! Patton... well I think we’re all on the same wavelength there. Westwood who you say is on one season too long will still be better in 4 years time than some of your current forwards! I was hoping to see a good performance tonight from the Wire cos I’m bang in your corner but sad to say there’s more disappointment very much on the cards!

| Got home really quickly tonight. Started the sorrows drowning.
Watched the KR-Leeds game.
Luckily the pain got dulled.
When the league table came on screen I was relieved to see we can't get relegated.
1. The forward pass call was a shocker but it shouldn't have affected us like it appeared to.
2. McCarthy was pathetic pretending to be hurt.
3. Danny Walker injected a spark
4. Our pack is too small
5. Mamo is unlucky
6. Patton was at his best as back-up hooker. No other SL side has such a limited h.b.
7. Why did Tasi do 20 mins and Ex-Wids Dudson 60?
8. Team warning with 15 secs to go... over to you Cummings
9. Where's my fridge gone....

| Watched the Leeds HKR game back last night, which was infinitely more engrossing.
For a team in the pressure cooker of a relegation fight, TS has got Rovers playing confident, expansive, imaginative RL that is a joy to watch. Masterclass of halfback play from McGuire and a great stint from Livett.
Ho-hum.

| How good are we? Not very in my eyes but have a think about this one.....
How many of our squad would get snapped up by other SL clubs?
I'm going to say Hill, Clark, Cooper, Lineham, Charnley, Ratchford and possibly Austin if they could afford him. Oh yeh, and probably Walker too.
Others may get picked up but I doubt we'd get killed in the rush - bit of a damning indictment for a team 2nd in SL
(Just my own opinion of course)

| Is there an official stat for metres made...sideways?
No wonder our wingers aren’t scoring, they have no space. On the few occasions they do have space the passing is so laboured that the defence is numbered up with ease.
I have been hoping that Patton just needed a run of games to gain confidence but that clearly hasn’t worked. His passing for a halfback was woeful, either hesitated or did that pretend dummy pass thing followed by the actual pass which just gave the defence more time.
It couldn’t be more obvious that we only have 2 front line props (neither of whom played) and currently we are over reliant on D Clark and Austin, both of whom are on a hiding to nothing.

You should still be able to see whether the team has improved or not, through the season, not just wait for one or two games and judge it off that.
Take Tony Smith's first two seasons, 2009 and 2010. In both seasons, when it came to the Challenge Cup big games, we won. But you could also make a fair judgement that we were better in 2010 than in 2009.
I don't buy this idea that the playoffs are an entirely random competition once you get there. Some of these league fixtures expose weaknesses that we have that will get ruthlessly exposed in a big game.
The irony is that if we end up playing Saints in the Grand Final and lose, people on here will say we "bottled it" as though once again we have gone in as hot favourites, and blown it on the big occasion against a team we really should have beaten, when really, we're going to go in as underdogs for a reason.
Note I am still pretty much expecting us to make both Wembley and Old Trafford, which means I'm implicitly discounting the idea that any team like Cas, Hull or Wigan would get there ahead of us. I am probably just as deluded as anyone on that front.

Shows poor squad management/team selection for me; surely wiser to give him his first proper run out against Salford at Home than tricky Cas away or a CC Semi Final.
At the very least he’d have shown more enthusiasm than some of that shower last night.

Yeah i don't get why we'd give him 20 mins last week then simply leave him out this week, seems bizzare unless he was awful which by all accounts he did ok. Should have been on the bench again this week.
