I'm over the moon that Chris Hill is doing well. He was the stand out player at Leigh for the last four seasons and carried the team more than once. Lovely lad, fantastic temprement and outstanding work ethic. If Chris doesn't become an England international I'll eat my Leigh scarf. Was going to say something else but no one wants to see my bum on the town hall steps. Great to hear one of our ex players doing well in SL.

It's was a slog, it was hard fought, it was nerve wracking, it was tense, it was one of them games.

Absolutely outstanding performance to get the 2 points against a very stubborn Huddersfield side and with only 15 players.

It was outstanding in overcoming adversity, but it wasn't outstanding in terms of what we're capable of, if that makes sense. In any game of RL, to lose 2 players in the first quarter hurts you, maybe the new interchange rules make that slightly less of a problem as you're likely to play certain players longer anyhow.

I thought we dropped a few daft balls, I still think we miss Hodgson on our left edge for that shift play back left but as has been said, young guys are doing well and everyone is contributing, people like Blythe, Cooper, Hill who you wouldn't have expected to be lapping praise on today. Blythe might have just pounced on a ball, but he literally ran on, got straight on with his job and came up with a key play at a key time.

To go there and win, your pack have to front up, to lose Carvell, Harrison & Grix. It's a big compliment to Wood, Morley, Cooper, Westwood, Hill that they won that battle.

I thought Westwood was immense.

Indeed. Don't forget the team had to readjust three times: when losing Carvell and Evans from the original starting 17, then after losing Grix, and finally when Harrison was injured. Hudds first try came immediately after Harrison went down - well taken, but the Wire line was a man light. Wire may not be playing the best rugby for 80 minutes yet but we used to lose these type of games regularly, in more favourable circumstances than last night, so it was a great win.

Look at the score line and thought that Huddersfield had played well, but just seen the match report and it just goes to show the score does not tell the whole story.

Tough win for Warrington with so many out.

watching the game back this morning.. and i STILL cant figure out for the life of me why westwood threw that pass to Monaghan... absolute madness... all he had to do was drop over the line for the try.

Split second stuff, he passed because he thought the cover defender was closer than he was.

Westwood is a machine, it just isn't normal how much work he does.

Wire deserved the win but dont forget we had a makeshift pack out there again.

We hardly had our first choice pack out there either! Missing Carvell and Solamona with Grix and Harrison missing the majority of the match putting us down to 15 men.

nowhere near, Mason, Patrick, O'Donnell, Fa'aologo, Lawrence, Lunt were missing ...... and we had Grix, Brown, Ferguson all playing out of position.

and we also had carvell, solomona, higham, hodgson, evans all missing before the game... then obviously lost grix and harrison in the first have to injuries.

Great effort from our boys to win that game when you consider the disadvantage those injuries put us at.

i know that, you know that, most people wouldn't even mention it.

HOWEVER, whenever we've taken them to the cleaners, its oh, we've not got a full team out, as you say, thats life in SL get on with it.

Lunt played for the U20s on Thursday. He seems to be on the outer.

and Lawrence and Mason were the unselected players in the 19 man squad but we don't mention that either.

mason failed a late fitness test thats why, lunt is apparently lacking fitness so he is not ready for first team. but to compete so well with the big players we was missing and with people out of postion im looking forward to rest of this season. i think wire are the best team in the comp and will finish top again but shall be interesting for the play offs and challenge cup

Mason didn't fail a fitness test. Nathan Brown considered that he hadn't played at all so was not match fit. Slight difference. He chose not to pick Lawrence and Lunt is out of favour. Grix wasn't playing out of position, he's played there all season because Kevin Brown is at Loose. Nathan Brown chose to play him there. Like everyone else you play with what you've got and if you start the season with injuries it's just tough.

I don't see how Huddersfield can ever be at full strength when Brown collects backs like Panini's.

They must have had 30 backs then he signed Eden, Murphy & George who are all no better than what he already had. Seriously, there's squad depth and then there's Huddersfield, yet they're all the same somehow and you still have Gilmour playing at 41.

He'd be better off buying some work wear, it's dress down Friday every day for our Nathan.

They've got such a big squad that there's always going to be someone out.
