It's a bit concerning that there are still rumours and press commenting that King may leave a year early. That Express article says; "...there is still a chance King might go home a year early and link up with the Raiders, or the Brisbane Broncos, who are looking for a centre after the collapse of the deal to sign Greg Inglis." What happened to King saying that he would only ever play for Warrington or Melbourne?!
I really hope that King doesn't leave now, but I'm sure if he does go then J.Monaghan would be brought in for 2011 - as opposed to 2012 on a three year contract as that article suggests.
If King does stay, I'd much prefer Monaghan to join Cas next year. We saw how King and Michael Monaghan took time to settle in over here, so playing at Cas would give Joel a better feel of the English conditions (training, playing, living etc) than if he spends a season in sunny Catalan!

I wouldn't worry about things too far in advance. In 2005 there were all these rumours that clubs were coming in for Brent Grose, remember he was linked with Melbourne and Penrith. We were worried that we might lose him early because of interest from the NRL. Half way through 2006 we would have probably been ready to let him go. |

Now its all settled down, is no one a little disappointed we are in for Mongahan given his drunken prank?
I’m all for forgiving a blokes past indiscretions, but I just don’t like the idea of him in a Warrington shirt. I’m sure he’s a decent bloke but he’s a good player that’s it he’s not one of Australia’s best and I’m not sure his quality overshadows his embarrassing incident.
Is he really good enough to bring that baggage to our club? I don’t think he is.

Bang on. All this handwringing is pathetic. He did an incredibly silly thing as a laugh with his mates when they were on a Mad Monday boozed up lash. It was hardly deviant activity - they were gathered around taking the pic while everyone laughed. Its not like they walked in and caught him by surprise as he was giving Lassie a bit of bareback loving!
