If this is discriminatory language again, he must be close to being dismissed.

I recall Josh Charnley complaining to the ref about something and the incident being put on report by the ref, during Friday`s game.



At the time I couldn`t work out what the problem was, so maybe McGuire said something to him?

Charnley is a renowned g0be, so I suspect he's simply telling tales at the slightest bit of name calling - probably got called a caravan dweller or something?

Sorry, I'm not offended by blokes playing physical sport using industrial language. I've played enough sport (& still do) to know that it goes on and that it generally is a case of what goes on on the pitch is forgotten about, once the game is finished.

Industrial language is one thing, racially-derived insults something very different.

If McGuire is going around the pitch randomly calling opponents names, then I agree he needs disciplining. However, if, as I suspect, its a group of barely intelligent players taunting and provoking one another in the heat of battle, then I'd be more inclined to tell the individual telling tales to suck it up and grow a pair.

So a group of players who already have a past gripe against an individual are now allowed to basically accuse him again and their evidence will be taken as reliable?

Seems that way, Leigh are basically judge, jury and prosecutor. What I don’t get is why it’s got till Tuesday the game was played Friday. If the allegation is true then I would of thought he would of been charged today then ofc it goes to tribunal.

It's certainly a very odd way of running a disciplinary procedure.



If a neutral witness hasn't heard anything definite, then I struggle to see how this case could hold up, Wire, or even McGuire himself, could simply take it to an independent court?

Very true, I think most of their journalism comes from sites like this or the milkman etc etc.

I must say, in these days of life changing injuries & conditions possibly being provoked by unnecessary or excessive physical contact that the focus for rugby league & its disciplinary panel should be on preventing such injuries rather having a hiss fit over a runaway mouth.

It's Josh Charnley that's made the accusation against McGuire. But there's no independent witness this time, so unless Leigh can come come up with evidence this won't go anywhere. I've not been told what was Charnley's alleging yet, but no doubt i'll find out.
