Which option can I take without having to rush around straight from work.
Which option can I take my kids too.
Which option can I enjoy some midday sun on my face.
Which option can I sit in a beer garden putting the Rugby league world or world in general to right. .... pre and post game. ...
But most importantly which game means I don't have to spend afternoon tea at the in laws. .....

I was 12 when I first attended a wire game and was hooked since that day, quite how fitting it in with getting faced would make the game more appealing is totally alien to me........

Stopping drinking ale and watching rugby for 2 hrs on a Friday or Saturday directly interrupts me getting faced. I'd much rather have it on Sunday following a large amount of pig and eggs and some quiet reflection.

I don't think so. All SL clubs receive the same amount.

I would agree, they are not. Trouble is we don't know how the bargaining unfolded. Sky might have said said Thursdays were non-negotiable.

| What is patently clear is that you can't please all of the people all of the time, particularly so if you take Thursday's out of the equation which seems to be universally unpopular. Friday nights, Saturday evenings, Sunday afternoons, they all have their merits and faults. In my opinion people are quite rightly stating a preference based on personal circumstance, kids, work, distance of travel, drinking opportunities, finances, or whatever it is that seals their RL watching deal but whatever is chosen will be the wrong day or time for someone.
I understand that the thread is season tickets and the varied schedule might be the death knell for this form of paying for the game for some but here's a question is it right that match day is fixed (the date not the result before we get the Saints fans back on here in numbers)? I might be a Sunday guy but I can't guarantee that every Sunday would be a perfect fit every week, likewise the other days on offer. As long as there's no late fixture changes I can generally make appropriate arrangements or accept that I miss the odd game, I have a choice. a mixture of dates and times also adds a bit of variety through the season, a sunny Sunday, a night under the floodlights to kick off the weekend.
I have accepted that I don't have the right to attend every home game, it's not all about me and the saving grace is that if I miss my favoured day because of other commitments then I don't generally have to wait too long to restore my RL/life balance as most of our away games are a cock stride away and it's not too difficult to get my next fix.

| Good post Uncle Rico. The day's of the slavish attendance for RL every Sunday are gone. Pay as you go is the way forward, then you have control. If they are entertaining and you are enjoying it no problem. If you are getting a bit bored, give it a swerve.

| I must say that now i am retired it doesn't matter when matches are played so a season ticket is ideal for me.
However, had i still been working a season ticket would have to be given up because i would have been working Thursday & Friday nights so my attendances would have plunged.

| ninearches - don't get me started on retirement!! Every day is an ordeal and a trial.
I'm fortunate to be in a well paid job that's secure BUT if it wasn't a few circumstances I'd take retirement in an instant - or at least a couple of years off - in an instant.
I've seriously considered taking a demotion of 1 or 2 grades because of the hassle....
My family and my sport (RL in particular) are a real crutch.
I travel miles and hours for RL but have never had a season ticket.
Now we've got the interweb and Sky I get to see 2/3 games a week. It really is important.
Fans based in the M62 corridor don't realize how good they've got it.
For me the 3 or 4 match ticket is a good concept. I may get one this year.

| Working life certainly is a treadmill Fez, but when you do retire probably like me you will think back to when you started & wonder where all that time has gone. 45 years had gone in an instant although the 60 + hours a week didn't seem like that at the time. As long as you can enjoy your sport things will be ok.

| I remember the bloke who stood outside Wilderspool with a sign, said something like "Keep Sundays holy"
Well he's got his way now, for our home games.
The only match day I don't like is Thursday, especially for away games as I've got to book a half day. On the recent RFL survey I made sure I marked Thursdays as low as possible.

| According to an old law, that has never been officially repealed, it is actually still illegal to take payment for entertainment on a Sunday (except for theatres which was specifically repealed in 1972).
Maybe the RFL just dont want too many clubs getting into trouble

Quite, i think it was brought in as a similar thing to other clubs buy with no actual idea of how it would be applied. Everyone was previously used to get a % saving when purchasing something, which i saw as a bonus/rewarding.
This past 12 months i don't think i've spent/bought anything in the club shop other than a shirt and the wembley t shirt, the loyalty points thing doesn't seem a rewarding concept to me, [ias a consumer[/i.
Just a note on that, it did when it was mentioned it was possible to apply it to your new memberships, but having been told that only applies if you go in the club shop, well, that does seem to be testing that loyalty to the very limit.
I know they've tinkered with the system now, so there are other places you can acquire Loyalty points, but i would imagine you'd have to be having a nandos every week to see a decent return.

You pay separate but it's loaded onto your card.
You're membership doesn't cover it because it isn't a standard league game.
