I also think Penny is worth patience because he's a one off, you hardly ever see any lad who can run that fast and be as well balanced on his feet at full speed. When we look at those Aussies, Hayne, Folau, Inglis, Slater and so on, we always marvel at how they are incredible athletes and how we have nobody like that, Penny is part way there, he might be miles behind them as an overall player but he does have their speed and athleticism and possibly the hands as well. OK he's never going to be built like Inglis or Folau but he could be built like Matty Bowen for instance.

The problem with a lot of our fans is whenever someone emerges who has speed, they want him in the team and they say "who cares if he can't tackle, Offiah couldn't tackle" (which is bull, I don't remember teams kicking to Offiah or targeting him) but then when he does play and makes a few mistakes they say he's quick but he's never an RL player. For years we have had young wingers at Wire who were never more than average, some were popular because of their effort but you could tell straight away they were never going to be a threat, Penny is always going to be a threat.

Remember how people wanted Nicky Royle in the team, Royle would have got butchered if he'd been a long term SL winger, he was never as good as Penny.

....and before that there were even those that wanted Neil Parsley in the team.

Gaz O'Brien and Rhys Williams will both be stars in the Future, as will Dave Saxon and possible Vinny Kakopa...

Dave saxon is no longer with warrington... released at end of last season..
Vinny Kakopa didnt play in many academy games last season, so never really had the chance to prove himself.
think obrians doing well, but not sure when he can fit in with " myler " and such there.
Think that the prop who scored all the tries for them last season " crowley " looks very promising, heard that he was second top try scorer last season.

Seen that his brother looks like a beast already as well, old moaning Rogues Gallery said Rhys was one of the best he seen last season in the academy games.

For me the two definetely to make the grade is Coops (i think he's proofed himself already though) and McCarthy now that he is full time., Smith's selection of him in the Challenge Cup must be an indication of whats he thinks of the lad.

Looking forward to seeing them all get a chance though especially Rhys Williams.
