| Quote ="FireWire"Hardly knew RL existed until I started secondary school, football was all I cared about back then.
So it would have been Workington at home, can't remember the year probably 1994 I think.
The match that really got me hooked on RL was New Zealand v Tonga in the 1995 World Cup.'"
Think mine was the same actually, it's the oldest one I can remember as I remember there was an offer on for that game. I was only about 6 though so it's tiiime ago for me.
Unlike yourself though I've known about League for as long as I can remember, my oldest memories of playing in the garden were my 3rd or 4th bday I think, I didn't get taught the proper rules until 7ish though
Mine were then pretty sp until 96ish because my dad wouldn't take me as I was always grounded...always played though as a kid

| First game was a night game vs Feverstone must have been about 1990. I won a trip with school to get to see the players pre game and then watch the game. Was 8/9 and didn't have a clue what was going on.
I didnt return til me and a mate got free tickets to the Workington game at w'spool in about 94 and i think we actually lost 19-18 or something. We then got more free tickets to Halifax and Im pretty sure we lost again and the lights went.. But didnt put me off and the following year I was a Wolfpacker and never looked back.
Thank god for freebies at school.

Could be the same one as me. I know it was Nov 5th, sat in the Bevan, not sue what year. John Schuster kicked us to death that night. Thats all i remember really. Lots of "and the two points added by John Schuster" . . .

| Can't remember exact game, my mother used to take me, it would have been about 1958/59. In those days, they allowed young children to sit on benches inside the wall along the touchline for the 2nd half. Just about remember Brian Bevan's last game. I was stood in the corner where he scored his try.

| Think it was about 1996 V Oldham Bears. Asked this giant (well to me) on the sidelines for his Autograph having no idea who he was. Later found out it was Mark Forster. And the rest is history!

| Wilderspool 1966 - Pretty sure it was against Oldham but I was only 6.
Wire won I do remember that, Bobby Greenhough was my childhood hero and I was really pleased to see he's been inducted into the club Hall of Fame recently. Not before time.

Cracking player, it's just a pity about Jackie Edwards injury, they would have made a fantastic half back combination.

Same for me, that one, at least it's the match I remember. Had been going previously as a nipper with my Dad but this was the first match that captured my imagination as a 6 year old. Snared ever since.

Jonathon Davies scored one of the best tries Ive ever seen in this game. Picked the ball up on th ehalf way, beat a couple of men with changes of pace, chipped over the defensive line and won the race to the ball in the scoreboard corner. STill got the DVd of the tries from that season. Any younger fans who want to see a great team and some outstanding tries could do far worse then watch the DVd from this season.
Anyway i digress, 1st game Warrington v Leeds January 1975 Won 15-5.

1985 or 86, can't remember. But can remember John Woods and Terry Holmes being outstanding for them.

| Early 90's, cant remember the exact year. Don't really remember much of the game but was sat in Bevan stand. It was against Sheffield and we lost. Went a few more games after that using the vouchers the Warrington Guardian used to do for some games. Started going more regularly in 97 and rest is history.

Well done for sticking with! This was a dark day. Im sure that was "DVDV OUT" post game sit in match too.
Quote Huddersfield-Sheffield recorded only their third victory of the season, thanks to an amazing comeback against Warrington.
The former Wigan winger Rob Smyth made a remarkable debut for Warrington, scoring four tries in the opening 24 minutes as they led 20-0, but finished on the losing side after an astonishing collapse. The Giants pulled a try back before the interval through Dale Cardoza and scored 38 points without reply in the second half to win 44-24.'"
