Thete were a couple instances Taylor-Wray should have given the ball on and didn't but no he didn't do anything wrong as such. Just having been spoiled by Dufty for so long its glaring tbat we can't just slot him in as a 1-1 tactics wise. I thought Fitz looked pretty off the pace and we would have gotten more out of Nicholson. But then most of the team got battered for the majority of the game. King though yep, worst game I've seen him with his handling skills. Shocking

4 clear knock ons and one suss knock on.
I’d drop him though for Lindop.
But the biggest culprit….Vaughan again.

| Proud of the guts and effort with 12 men but we are massively dulled without Dufty. Plus having 2 centres that offer so little in attack is limiting us (as much as I like Tai). King stunk the place out.

| Adrian Lam described the Vaughan sending off as a bit of luck for his team in his post match Sky interview. A bit of an under statement.

I like the guy, but he just gives away the softest, dumbest penalties that keep costing us.
It’s so frustrating because he’s a superb prop outside his errors.
But he does it at the most decisive points in our season.
And yes, it pees me off!

Why was today dumb. Just because it’s a red card doesn’t mean it’s down to dumb play.

Warrington are the biggest grubs in the league and the ref saw through it all tonight, as soon as Vaughan saw red your players tried everything to get it scrappy, Thewliss stays down every tackle, Williams always moaning to the ref, Drinkwater trying to scuffle every tackle and Philbin dove forward as soon as he felt Hughes lift his leg. Your fans are just as bad booing every single tackle. Could of been a good game spoiled by a blatant shoulder to the head which has been consistently a red ALL year.

| Just to add I thought we were excellent. Might sound out but with the attack so off and down to 12 and utterly battered…to still be in the game with a minute left…god we’re good, really good.

| If players don't bend their back going into contact, they're always at risk of hitting the head with the shoulder. Instead of spitting the dummy out at the refs and the rules he should be frustrated with Vaughan's lazy technique.

| Let's be honest here. We were 5H1TE. Absolute 5H1TE. Umpteen knock ons, a lot on the first tackle. Should we appear in the Elimination games, we'll get hammered with ball retention like that.
King should be under house arrest, next Saturday afternoon. No way he deserves a jersey for that "performance".
The same for Drinkwater's (what can be laughingly called) kicking game. Douglas Bader could've done better.
But let's look at the game as a whole.
There was NO WAY we were going to be allowed to win that. The softest red card I've seen in years, but there's no way the disciplinary "committee" will go against a VR decision, on Monday night. After all, they're NEVER wrong (apart from Saints players getting deductions AGAIN ) Vaughan.will be getting a ban, such is the way the game is going
Leigh were offside ALL game, but didn't get penalised until the last quarter of the game for it.
But hey ho. 3 tries to 2, it's their night.

| Leigh were 2/3 yards off all night to the point where it was laughable. My argument is that we were SO e with 12 men and still looked likely.

| How can Leigh fans get uppity about tackling techniques with who they have in their side? Beggars belief....but hey, let them have their day in the sun before they get relegated again in a couple of years when their team of cast offs all retire.
I am rapidly falling out of love with Super League, it has so few redeeming qualities, especially now the football play acting has crept in. An amateur sport administered and adjudicated by clueless buffoons

| Leigh were allowed to play a 7 yard line ALL night. The refereeing performance was one of the worst I can remember. But I'm not surprised. Wigan must finish in the top 2.

Least penalised team in the league suggests different.
Leigh are the 4th most penalised team in the league by the way. Also have the most yellow cards.

| At the risk of making this thread about rugby, we’ll take a bit from that. Things won’t always go our way, and we’ll have to work out a way to cope. We gave up the first 6 points, and turned over so much ball that a good team would have put 40 on us, and Leigh should have done and they will be equally disappointed with their execution.
The bigger and most immediate issue is that the Charnley and Halton tries come from us getting our goal line defence wrong. The Halton one, Wray tries to move Fitzgibbon out from marker/A defender and he just doesn’t move, and Wray ends up late into position, 1 on 1 on the line. I’m not saying Fitzgibbon stops the try, but there’s a communication breakdown. The Charnley one, Walker is a late retreat on the line and doesn’t get to the short side quick enough for the right edge to be able to adjust. Could be fatigue for Walker, but I’d be expecting Wray to plug that gap and get the numbers right and/or getting Walker to position with a bit more urgency.
No criticism of Wray, numbers are short by default when down to 12, but something to work on over the next few weeks.
PS. Don’t feed the duck, he doesn’t know better.

| A red card which was never a red card, the continued over examination by the video ref, it was like they were hopeful of finding a reason to send off Vaughan. The sky commentary was the exact same, Jon Wells was delighted when the Vr made the decision..it was the most laughable card I’ve seen..
Leigh looked clueless in attack against 12 men, their line speed in defence was debatable, all night. It was a given Charnley was getting a try against Wire..
Overall it’s not that bad of night for Wire. Showed brilliant mental toughness in restricted Leigh to only 16 and scoring two conversions, the first kick by Thewils was delightful from the touch line..
As for duckies agenda against Vaughan, last night was no fault of Vaughan’s, so unsure why the Duck is fuming..
Toby King amateurish performance by him.
