3 games 3 wins and all different. The thing about this game is no way would we have come back last season.

I do hope we're going to acknowledge that that was a very soft sin binning and worse than that had gone on all game from both teams. We'd just started to get a roll on but that killed Salford and made it hard for us to lose. Yes we came back and can't knock that but I'd hardly call it resilience. We piggy backed off the referee a lot there.

On the face of it one would say so but anyone that watched that then surely could see the ref absolutely strangled Salford any time he could. That was hardly a sin binning. We completely had a leg up all that half.

Totally agree. We did our job well in the second half, but some of that refereeing was baffling to say the least and I suspect Rowley will be having a few quiet words with the ref about some of his decisions.

I thought the Chuckle brothers no longer performed, but there they were tonight ruining what should have been a competitive game.

I thought Sneyd's missed kick left the door open and Brierleys sin-binning ushered us through.

But I'm not sure I agree the ref was culpable. Salford imploded with ill-discipline and its not the first time and won't be the last time a Rowley team showed an unpleasant side to themselves. Watkin's smack on Dufty was nasty and there was a niggly element to them all day.

So, not great but plenty of character. I thought Thomas M was superb in his stints.

Did Whitehead come on?

Fair play for Waringtons 2nd half, but there were some tough decisions on Salford and strange as it may seem, I think Salford deserved more than they got.

We were nowhere near where we needed to be in the 1st half and Salford deservedly led.
The 2nd half started the same way.
Our defence was nowhere near where it needed to be. I think maybe even I could have got through the hole between Clark and Currie for their 3rd try.
The momentum changed on the Sneyd missed kick and the sin binning was a joke for me.
Salford never got a look in after that, but they showed many teams how to play Warrington. They threw the ball around are got their noses through our line time and time again.
The 8 point Dufty try - well I think that was extremely harsh on Salford.

I don't think it was the refs best night, and neither was it Warringtons.

OK we won, but lots of things to work on.

When Brierley was binned I thought I must have left the room or been asleep and missed a series of penalties for similar offences culminating in the decision but the decision was outrageous. Wire may well have won anyway but that was a massive leg up. Similarly the 8 point try decisions were for innocuous offences in open play. Smith’s refereeing performances so far this season have been similar - starts off letting a lot go and the game flow and then gets really picky.

It wasn't perfect at all tonight and the Brierley sinbinning was harsh. I think Smith got fed up of him being a moaning all night but the actual offence was innocuous.

I still think we would have completed the comeback though; our momentum was quite something in the second half and we really knocked the stuffing out of the likes of Dupree and Watkins who had hurt us in the first half.

Our centre-second row channels are far from amazing and I think it will cost us in games this year.

Ref Schmef. You're always going to get games like that. From where I stood Salford were pretty much always offside for a 10-15 min period, ref went to the screen for nearly all our tries. Ref let them hold us down and slow the ptb a fair amount.

The real reason that Wire 23 came back tonight was because we're not Wire 22 anymore. And long may that continue

Plus in the 1st half, Salford kept the game away from our props and countless one on ones against the outside backs or backrowers. It’s easy to blame the backs for missing tackles in a one on one, but it’s harsh and like blaming a goalkeeper for not saving a penalty.

Salford constantly had us on the back foot because of this, all it needed was for us to regain the ball and control the momentum. We did that, the sinbinning of Brierley was not significant to the Salford loss, that was already unfolding. Salford were already under the cosh and had so many penalties called against them throughout that initial early period of that momentum change.

I’ll watch it again, but it looked like a clear attempt to slow the play down when we were on a roll. Salford pushed the line in terms of offside I felt. The game swung in massive momentum for both teams, we managed to post more points than then when we had momentum - that’s what the game came down to. We wouldn’t have got close to winning that game last year - great belief from the team when the fans were thinking ‘here we go again’!

Watkins was lying on in EVERY tackle he made. The yellow for Brierly was harsh on him...but not on Salford. The knees on Thewlis when he scored was housery at its worst. First half from Wires was 2022. Second half was 2023. Onwards.

People need to go have a look at that 2nd half, the sin bin was purely down to a totting up process. A handful of six again/penalties was why he was sin binned it could have been any player just happened to be Brierly which was the one player they could not afford to be off the field.

What was the point of having Whitehead on the bench and giving him no game time.

spot on..it was an accumulation of constant offences in the tackle.

Possibly because the first half didn’t go quite the way DP had expected it too.
