Quote ="Saddened!"It would have been funny to witness, but they've got to think of Hicks' mental state in all of this. He would have been under unfair pressure following what happened after the Cup final, much the same position he was put in by ITV airing that PR piece in the week running up to the game. It's common sense to remove him from Saints games for a while until it's died down and he's not been close to being the best referee this season. Kendall thoroughly deserves it, he's done plenty of televised games and his recent games have all passed without flare ups and without a Twitter storm about his decisions. You now there has been a good refereeing performance when people are raging on Twitter about performances, gutless players and team selections and the like and not refereeing decisions.'"
Who caused the unfair pressure? There is still a storm over hicks in St Helens, maybe a referee rant just goes really well alongside a massive bowl of sour grapes. I can't help but feel the RFL should have backed hicks and given him key games. Their "protection" of hicks makes it look as though they agree with those of a sour disposition.
