I’ll take an 8th final in a decade over a WCC, numerous relegations and 103 year run without being crowned champions, ta!

| Well, Leeds were abysmal and we were just pretty good and scored ‘almost’ 50 - Benny missing that kick at the end from right in front didn’t he? Haha

He won’t turn up. He only posts about how great Saints are and has a view like Saints have won every game and every trophy ever on offer, today will be making his head hurt as he tries to understand that they do lose games and play terribly.

| Thought Toby King had a blinder today. Totally dominated the high ball, and looks a much more composed, incisive player than ever before.
Cooper continues to play like a man posessed. His footwork has improved, his error rate is low and his stamina is unbelievable.
Let's not fall into the trap of diluting the achievement because of Leeds woes : we pummelled them down the middle, our defence for the most part was punishing and we sapped them of spirit, energy and gameplan.

| Well I love the double header format. A great day out, 2 games of rugby , the "Arrogants" humiliated and we win against the SL Champions (whatever their current woes). And some long range tries just to prove we can.

Ditto. Hope they continue to do this. And credit to the Saints fans who stayed behind after their game to watch the next one.

| Not to sure about the same stadium though, service was terrible, access and parking horrendous. Maybe look at an RL one like Wigan or Hudds, dependant on the four semi finalists.

No love for Catalans after last year's MPG that saw you both directly and indirectly (after recent events) gifted a free cherry-pick of Leigh players. No love for any of the faux-expansionist clubs to be honest (for obvious reasons).

Nice of you to complement the Wire. Totally out of order to call Catalans ' faux-expansionist'. That region of France has always been a hotbed of League at lower levels - [i'treizistes'[/i as the fans are called - so they are in a perfect place for real expansion.

Never rely on stadium parking. There were two farms ( a very pleasant 20 minute walk in the sunshine away ) where you could park for £5 all day with security - both easily found with an internet search.
Catering was abysmal ( As the bloke who served me agreed when I got to the front). The problem ( I hear ) is that the totally skint Bolton soccer club owe big money to their catering contractors. The RFL persuaded them to open up but that's why it was cash only and they took no risks ( as they saw it ) with the standard big-match procedure of having pourers lining up their beers and servers handing them over and taking the cash. It was ( I agree, too) appalling that they appear to have run out of bottled water by half-time in the first match - guess it was the same issue.

I've not been a fan of Toby King but he looked good today, and Goodwin had a belter too.

| First ground I have ever been to that didn't have a scoreboard apart from the screen in the far corner that I couldn't see.
Shame as I almost lost count of the score on a couple of occasions.

| Been a fan of Toby. Was crushing that 1st injury he received as he was cruising to be our best 3/4 at that time.
Dunno what W71 was doing at that time.

| T. King for me, plays the same way Currie did when he first started to break through. bit hit and miss but all the while his natural talent was glaringly obvious. T. King could become one of the best English centres in the game if he's allowed to keep playing as long as his performances justify it. I much prefer his style of centre play to Atkins.

He wasn't passing to his winger then and bombing chances.

| Ryan Hall has proven time and time again he is one of the best wingers in the world under the high ball, King constantly made him look very ordinary under Roberts high balls throughout the game.

Agreed, I'm ac big fan of Toby King, I though he was brilliant yesterday, great to see him hit that standard after another injury layoff. Hopefully he can stay fit for a prolonged spell this time. I have to say our back 5 have been very good since Charnley came in, our game looks a lot more balanced there isn't a weak point there.

| Charnley has been massive because of the attention he gets help a pacey 3/4 ghost through half a gap as we saw again with the slightest hip switch for Toby's last try.

Yeah it certainly helps, Charnley and King was a good combination from the off, very unfortunate that Toby got injured.

| these are the games that toby has had in the past which is why i've stuck up for him on here, he's got a good footballing brain, he just needs the consistency now.
He and josh could be our centre wing partnership for a long time. I just hope Austin can work better in defense with him next year and beyond.

That's why I has to question W71 on his opinion of him. He hadn't had the continued run since the pre grand final loss when he was at the level he has returned to now.
I can only see him getting better....if he isn'tlready an England knight yet, he'll be turning selectors heads soon with hightened tv exposure...not the Myler kind.

1 try and 4 assists in 2016. (16 games)
1 try and 2 assists in 2017 (only 6 games)
Together with bombing a few chances this year, being injury prone, and the reluctance to pass to winger shaped my opinion. When you compare with Atkins' try return it's difficult to make a case for his inclusion in the side.
I'd be delighted for him to continue his good form and shove my words up my arris.

I've already given my opinion on stats to try a prove something that has no bearing.
Toby had improving form as a younger that was improving massively in a short period just before his injury...if you use a full season stat you try to back up your post, it won't honestly reflect the form towards the end of the season period when his injury occurred.

I disagree, players have to be given an opportunity to develop, T King has shown he is worth persevering with, how long for is a matter for the coaches. A bit like B Julienne who came along in leaps and bounds last season.
