| The only disappointment for me, other than Ben C going off, was the sight of Steve Price wearing brown shoes with a blue suit.
More criminal than Tony Clubb's tackling technique.

Maybe he's still waiting for his clothes to arrive and borrowed some from an estate agent.

| if you look up "the ref give us love all" you'll find tonight's Ben Thaler performance.
Akuaola penalised for grabbing the foot when he was in fact kicked on the leg was just one of the most ridiculous decisions I have ever seen.
a woeful referee.... has easily taken over the mantle of Steve "i'm making it up as I go along " Ganson

| much much better tonight IMO...strong and balanced....thought everyone contributed. Sky muppets forgot to mention that we were down two men when they were praising Wigan's unbelievable efforts in their comeback. Scoreline flattered a bang average Wigan side. Roberts is going to rip it up this year when he's fully fit and the weather gets better.

He would look good throwing dummies and shooting through gaps against part time teams but seriously the kid is hopeless....
I hope he signs a ten year deal with Wigan

| JET LAGGED WIGAN ROBBED AT THE HJ. You can imagine the headlines. Really enjoyed that tonight ,all the team fronted up well, but i thought we started the 2nd half in the usual Wire half asleep 20 minute period that we have come to expect. Wigan were hungrier but we held out with some big performances. Well done boys !

Nothing better to swell the sky bet coffers than getting the losing team back in the game.

If that was Wigan at anything like their best this season, you can write them off now. They were pathetic in the first half and only came back into it at the end when Warrington visibly tired. That must be a huge concern for your coach, Wigan were out on their feet when the game started, you dominated and yet they were stronger at the end? Work that out? I suspect that was Wigan at their worst having enjoyed their holiday a little too much.
Warrington were better than they've been previously, but I wouldn't be shouting from the rooftops about that performance. I think a lot of teams would have sliced and diced the Goons tonight, it was there for another Wakefield type scoreline. Had Warrington taken some of the early chances they bombed it could have gone that way. The pack was a lot better for Warrington, but you need to get Clark going again.
I'd say a better team would have demolished Warrington on that performance, but I'm not sure a significantly better side exists in Super League, given how poor the standard is these days. Your backs would have prevented any chance of a trophy in any normal season, but I suspect anyone could win it this year. Who was that winger Brown? Surely you've got players in your academy better than him?

Yeah, fair play. I might well live to regret saying this but I think he has become less of a bell over the last year or so.

George Williams is class pal. I'd have him in a heartbeat...but he was behind a suppressed pack missing bench impact.

What game did you watch? Or are you trolling? No one is shouting from the rooftops here just pleased with a professional performance. We weren't out finessed at the end of the game it was simply a shift in momentum when Wigan started chancing their arm, we were 16 0 up and took the foot of. If there was any
Fitness at the end it was probably from losing Currie early doors and Brown with 20 to go.
As for Wigan they were very good vs Hull and so far this season so don't be playing down their quality. We just did really well to contain them.
Regarding Mitch Brown, in one game he gave us exactly what we've been crying out for, stability and sensibility. We can't all have Adam Swift on the wing........
And no, there's no one in the academy.
We're not expecting any trophies this year but in one game there's a glimmer of light that the last few years of poor defence and unstructured attacks could be exiting the club.

Pay me attention
Look at me, me ME.. Even a 6 month lay off from the Wire page, and he's not changed.
Never mind, Saddo. Not long to wait for your traditional Good Friday capitulation to your "nearest and dearest"

| I really enjoyed last night game which was in stark contrast to last year's experiences when I was falling out of love with the game I had followed for over 50 years. Unfortunately the first half was slightly tarnished by a loud mouth effing and jeffing. Hopefully he was the same idiot that I've come across before as I'd hate to think that there were two of them.

| We have been complaining about the declining standard of rugby for a few years now, but i think our defence was mostly excellent last night & we rarely let Wigan get into their stride.Despite the usual Wigan offside at ptb & their best efforts at removing some of our players from the field we stayed in the game manfully & but for some silly penalties given away we could have posted more points ,but such is the way close games are won or lost.

| Good win for the Wire in a fixture where they were on a hiding to nothing. Bragging rights established, 2 points but more importantly we are starting to look a much better side. Also our recruitment for 2018 looks to have come up with the goods.

This has probably done Roberts the world of good. He was slow to get going early on, and I was worried when he got that early knock, but he grew into the game, and by the end was involved in most things, including tacking, support running, taking on the line as well as directing play.
Wasn't a world beating performance, which is to expected in your second first game back after injury, in a new hemisphere. But if he had any doubts in his own mind about his body and recovery, getting though being targeted and bashed about by Wigan thugs will have actually done him good. He'll kick on over the next few weeks and it'll be fun to watch.

I didn't think it was that bad, yes he targeted patten putting the kicker under pressure. He wasn't that late and I didn't feel it was a shoulder charge or certainly not one that clubb fully committed to, i had no problem with play carrying on once the scuffle had been sorted.
