It may not be obvious to you, but suggesting that someone is on medication because they disagree with a particular view of the game feels like a personal insult to me.

I'm usually upbeat about the bad times after supporting thre wire for decades I can handle a few OK a lot of losses but I have to say that was the worst performance I've seen at this stadium. Big clap for the fax though, I thought there on the line defence was exceptional. God Wire we really are in need of a full service at the end of the season.

You want to read the opening of your own comment if your going to whine about insult, had you just said you thought we played ok then fair enough, but you attacked other peoples comments by calling us doom and gloom merchants, i would call it tit for tat.

Watched it back this morning, there are too many average (or worse) players in our team. Russell with the continued errors, Lineham doesn't look like he wants to return kicks, trying to pass to Ratchford on a number of occasions (not to mention the simple Miss for the second try). Hughes' errors and penalties are poor, doesn't offer enough to warrant the basic errors. King is slow and ineffective. Savelio is too busy walking around flexing his muscles, he may shrug one or two tackles off, but there's no benefit to the team at all. The half backs aren't dangerous individually, or cohesive together.

Huge off-season coming up, need to focus on quality rather than quantity, and use the youngsters more for cover.

The problem is, it isn't the end of anything. It's just the continuation of a problem which has been brewing for a number of years now.

If the crowd (a stadium low for us in Super League) didn't give the dissatisfaction away, the response to that game should, but still those at the top will keep their heads in the sand. The complacency and arrogance is outstanding, it feels as though people both on the terraces and in the club feel we have a god-given right to be in Super League and win these games.

Full credit to Fax though, they weren't expecting to reach this stage and getting the top-four status was the payout they needed, so these seven games are essentially a bit of a run out. They made us look like the part timers and that just shouldn't happen in modern sport.

Smith needs to take a look at himself and his comments, your team were very poor today, fitness, as expected told in the end but as a whole you created very little. We struggled to control Hiku but apart from him nobody else did much, Hill got through a lot of work as usual but wholesale changes are needed otherwise you will be in the same boat again next season.

The whole squad needs sorting with exceptions being to Hiku, Ratchford and Clark, I'd have the whole lot of them under caution of transfer...if they sell they can go. It's what Murphy would have done. He wouldn't have stood for mediocrity.
Too many times over and over individuals display poor form then a single odd great game, this isn't good enough. Consistency is shocking. Just the 3 prior named display effort everytime they play.

Also, Simon Grix looked a bit unfit but was one of the classiest players in the game

Well Simon Grix never had a bad game with us. He gave 100% every time.

All you can ask is players to give 100%. He doesn't have to be the most skillful player in the world to be the best. The best earn it.

Atkins - Currie?....Are you having a laugh

Although there was very poor individual play on show ( Lineham's non existent defence, Brown's passing the ball down the line without any thought to take the line on), the main issue was that the team were playing at a low tempo. I have not seen TS's comments, but if it's true that he said the team were 'flat', then that is very much down to him. I am not a fan of the Wigan coach, but he certainly doesn't stand for anybody dropping off the pace. The team need to be motivated for every game that they play - perhaps not by putting the fear of god into them, but motivated nevertheless, and that has to come from the coach. The game looked very much like the one's we played mid season but without all the hundreds of mistakes.

So a recurring theme this season looks to be the fact that TS simply can not get the team motivated. He didn't need to do it during the Monas / Morley era because we had so many older experienced players that they simply got on with the job and dragged the younger players with them. We do have some inadequate players in the squad, but perhaps TS's inability to get the players up for each and every one of our games, is our real Achilles heel ?

Livett, Currie, Hill, Westerman, Julien?

Post-match, TS looked, and sounded, like a dejected figure who knows that he his time has passed, and whilst he is clinging onto loyalty to his players for old times sake they are looking in the opposite direction, denying blame, accountability, responsibility and regret.

I admire his loyalty, but to say his players deserve to look flat is as undiplomatic to the paying public, as it is laughable, nonsensical and just, plain wrong.

The job is securing SL status but it would be nice to do it with dignity and style, as opposed to apathy, ineptitude, finger-pointing, disdain and unpleasantness.

It has been a shocking season, and not just for us. How many stand out TVs games have here been? How after playing a dire form of "anti rugby" for most of the season have Wigan and Saints still got a chance of making the semis?
If you could swap a full squad from another club for ours, how many (other than Cas) would you truthfully take?
There is a malaise at the heart of SL this season, I'm not sure what it is but it seems to be reflected in a number of teams underperforming.

Absolutely, and when you see the John Smiths stadium in Huddersfield, the town more synonynous with RL than any other, packed out for a football game when SL can't even quarter fill it, you fear for the game.

Incidentally, they may be our rivals down in the mosh pit of SL, but the demise of Catalans is another terrible, sad potentially disastorous nail in the SL coffin.

However you are right to flag up Atkins and Currie they too slipped my mind.

If you were in the sales business you would surely be looking for constant feedback from customers on the product you were selling. Whenever I buy something on compooter these days, I invariably get a questionnaire on customer satisfaction as well. Unfortunately the RFL don't seem to have twigged that they too are selling a product and need to connect with their customers to find out why gates are down and their new version of SL mark 65 is not dragging in thousands of more fans.

My suspicions are that;

Fewer playing at grass roots = Fewer high quality players coming through = Lower quality matches.

If true, no amount of farting around with systems that endanger a financially viable club like Catalans by dragging it into the lower tier competition ( for the thrill of 'jeopardy') is going to prop up the system. Nobody want's to watch inept referees that miss knock-ons, ball steals, off-sides, by teams that rely on each others mistakes to get the ball back and kicks to the corner because their 3/4's are lacking the talent and ability to break down the opposition defence.

100% agree with this, I nearly choked when I heard them comments, only thing bothering me now is I think nink&poop will still be here next season.

I heard Kurt Gidley being asked what the difference between NRL and SL is, his answer was grass roots rugby, they have more kids in the game than we do.

by far the best post ive read on here for ages and 100% spot on about the quality of our game...its boring cos of the lack of quality players knocking around..when we had monas morley briers hodgson etc they were a joy to watch and we would of ripped this cas team of today a new one with a bit to spare..we have over complicated the game with silly and unwanted rules which are baffling not just to us fans but officials too..i,ll still watch the game in the hope a decent game crops up..rant over for now
