I think we had 8 out when we beat you easter monday. Thankfulyl it was against one of the weaker sides in the comp or we may have lost

| On a positive note at least we won't see much of Ormsby for the rest of the year, simply not good enough!
Really miss Russell in games like that,we struggled to make metres bringing the ball back and we didn't get enough quick play the ball's for our two hookers

| I must say ,the game i watched was a game of two very good defences, but on the other hand ,for whatever reason, both attacks suffered from unforced errors. Knock ons seemed to be the order of the day & Hull were more deserving of the win with slightly better ball retention.
I thought the game was refereed well & but for the knock ons Mr Childs would have had very little to do tonight. Very pleased with the spirit in which the game was played.

Here, here duckie. The most stupid thing in the world, to have a winger (who's not exactly setting the world alight with his performance levels) driving the ball forward, in the opening sets of the game. That's what the pack is for.
As a whole, that was one of the sorriest "performances" from a Wire team I've witnessed. No flair, no plan B, Sandow running up his own chuff because his teammates have got their heads up their own bottoms. We got pulled into a down the middle armwrestle, and rarely looked like changing anything. The blame for this lies firmly at the feet of Smith/Agar. Not a thing changed in 80 minutes.
Another big task on Friday, now. We can't afford to become too detatched from the top. Even Wigan are above us now, and they've had more injuries than Gonville Bromhead's brave red coated boys at Rourke's Drift.

| Quote ="jj86"Horror show (from both teams). Deserved to lose after bombing so many chances. few players come out of that with any credit. Sandow was good but needed to take the line on more tonight. Evans ok. Ratchford was the best out of our lot as at least he didn't drop the ball. Presume Julien got an injury as he didn't come back on.
We looked knackered at the end - a few too many playing with injuries. That was a full strength Hull side too - amazing how they haven't picked up many injuries really - can't be coincidence though - they must be doing something right. How many overseas players do they have though?'"
We had 7 overseas players,10 English of which 7 are local lads, with another 6 English to come in so cant see your poont

| Defence and team spirt won the game.
Conditions obviously played a part, with a suggestion that the ball its self wasn't conditioned correctly.

Have a look at the Ellis try again and then see if you'd post "a game of two very good defences". Clark and Westerman's efforts to tackle Ellis were pitiful, if not embarrassing.

| The pitiful defensive efforts mentioned didn't happen every minute of the game, but how many times did we lose possession early in the tackle count or even on the first play with schoolboy unforced errors ? Knock ons, passes to ground, passes to anywhere but a player ,cocks up at the play the ball ,lack of composure.

| Bit of an anti climax really!!
If we had played well and lost I'd have been more concerned, but we were poor all over the pitch!
Our own errors stopped us capitalising on their errors. And vice versa if we meet em.against sure there will be a better performance from.both sides.

| What I'm pleased about it we probably put in one of our worst performances of the season and still beat the team in second at home.
FWIW, I don't think the players on either side were entirely to blame for all the handling errors. That ball must have been very greasy (interesting what the commentators said about the new ball), some players that are usually as safe as houses like Shaul inexplicably couldn't have keep hold of it.

| According to the Super League website:
Errors: Wire 21 - 20 Hull FC
Pretty similar. If anything, Hull's errors were far more costly in that they led directly to your 12 points.
Penalties Conceded: Wire 4 - 8 Hull FC
Can't blame discipline or the referee. Hull have away more (an issue for us at times).
Offloads: Wire 14 - 5 Hull FC
You had lots of opportunities.
Carries: Wire 169 - 169 Hull FC
Possession would appear very similar if the number of carries is any indicator.
Here's were the difference would appear to be...
Missed Tackles: Wire 30 - 17 Hull FC
Metres: Wire 1157 - 1264 Hull FC
Breaks: Wire 0 - 5 Hull FC
You were out-muscled it seems.

| Don't agree that we were outmuscled. In fact, I thought we stood up to the much vaunted Hull pack very well and were never bullied at any stage. Wilde, Jullien and King were significant kgs lighter than the Hull pack and bench and didn't take a backward step all night. Hill more than matched in form Taylor and Watts and we dealt with Pritchard pretty well.
Hughes and Westwood will stiffen the pack up and would have no fears about meeting Hull again.
Looks like the coach sees Cox as a bit of a luxury leaving us short in defence.

I said during the game we were out-muscled. It is something I had expected owing to your monster pack. I am surprised there isn't a bigger difference in meters made, especially given your 5 breaks. It felt like you were marching us to our line all night, and then keeping us there - games do look different in the moment, though.

| Like many teams this season, Hull's pack wore you down and in that last 15-20 minutes you didn't seem to have the energy to go on and win the game. I thought we controlled sandow and gidley really well and their only telling contribution all night was a couple of decent kick chases from sandow, one of which led to a try. Likewise, you did a really good number on jamie shaul who had his least effective game of the season.
Hull's outside backs, talanoa in particular, and their back row really made the difference on the night plus getting in front was always going to be easier to manage than chasing the game in those conditions
