Joel was never the fastest winger but he is a Try scorer. His poor tally this season is more due to the fact were not creating the opportunities for him to finish.

while its true he never had decent pace.. he had some.

Now he has none, which is causing him to not be able to score chances he would have done previously.

As well as being well down on tries, he is also massively down on assists, meters, clean brakes, tackle busts..... while his errors and missed tackles have shot up.

in short, his whole game has deteriorated beyond all recognition.

People were complaining about his lack of pace back in 2011, remember them two interceptions he made at the start of the year and got to about half way and people got on his back then. Back then people were complaining about the fact he was a centre playing on the wing.

Remember him taking an interception against Wigan and getting chased down just short of the line after going about 60/70 yards.

The other week against Hull KR he took an intercept and was caught over 10 yards by a prop.. he barely got in their half.

his pace category has changed from medium/Slow to Slow/stood still

It has just got even bigger with the addition of Simon Grix.

Anyone else feel a bit sad?

He was a great player for us, and his try scoring record, especially between 2011 & 2014 was fantastic.

I think it's the right decision however, he's likely to be one of our better earners and we are crying out for some real quality in the right centre position.

I hope both Joel & the club part on the best of terms.

But I'm even sadder for GOB. I so much wanted him to make it with us.

Yeah I'm gutted about both. GOB has never fulfilled his potential & Monas has been a great servant to the club.

Got to admit I'm very concerned that Wheeler hasn't been mentioned by the club yet. If he gets a new contract there's something seriously wrong.

Well it's OK saying 'x' is on big money so we have some more to spend, but I suspect that's already gone on Lineham, Hughes etc etc and I really don't see any decent players left and who'd want to move to us.

Well I'm left eating my words, I thought we wouldn't let Monaghan go as we said no to Catalans. We must have a good chunk of money spare now. Maybe the Eastmond rumour is true and he'll become our centre? Interesting to see who we bring in one maybe 2 more signings? 6 in? Thought we had only signed Lineham, gidley, Hughes and Dodds? Sandow is already on the books so who are the other 2 players coming in?

Feel a bit sorry for Joel, however this season has shown that perhaps his best years are behind him. Good luck to him though, he provided Wires with some truly special moments over the years.
