This is exactly the sort of thing that really annoys me. Call yourself a Warrington supporter? I suppose you were one of those booing when he got mom on Sunday. For years Wire fans have been slapping themselves on the back and saying what great supporters they are. Then, as soon as things go a bit wrong they show their true colours.

Were people really Booing when he got mom? He was excellent on Sunday and fully deserved it, albeit for the first time for 2-3 years. Some people clearly don't watch the game.

So are the Evans', Monas etc but they're on this apparent list.
I too heard the Atkins booing.

| Quote ="Paul Youane"There will be ten players leaving from the 24 man squad that was set for this season. That will include Wood and Higham.'"
I'm guessing.....
Myler, 90K
Bridge, 75K
Asotasi, 200K
England, 50K
Wheeler, 40K
O'Brien, 40K
j.Monaghan, 100K
Ben Evans, 45k
I've made a wild guess on the salaries but they add up to £640,000.
On top of that Mickey H 90k & Woody 110K
Which adds up to a grand total of £840,000. Of that, I've made another wild guess with Chrissy taking 250, Gidley 185 & Tom Lineham 140.
What do you folks think? Am I anywhere near right?

Not sure on the salaries - can't see Woody being on anything like £110k but I do wonder whether Simon Grix is one of the 10. I'd be very disappointed if he had to retire but it is a possibility I suppose.

Obviously I don't know what players are earning however I have been told, on pretty good authority, about one player (not willing to say who), but for that one player you're guessing over 50% higher than what I heard. I suspect that many players earn far less than we imagine.
I remember many years ago being at a Q&A thing with Lee Briers and Paul Johnson around about the time that Chris Ashton went to the dark side. If I remember correctly I think it was Paul Johnson who said that Ashton was only on about £10K at wigan, hence his move to Northampton.

| Yeah the warrington lads had an average wage of around 20k. The kids I mean. It's one of the reasons we let jake emmitt go because his dad was demanding more. To be honest I would have been happy as hell to be paid 20k to play a sport I love. I doubt Asotasi is on that much but unless they release official wages it's all hear say and guess work, so you never know. I just hope we do sign Akuma ta'ai as he would be awesome off the bench or even starting to be honest. I'm still not over the moon with jack Hughes though. His defence is absolutely solid but I don't see much in attack and he just seems to amble about most of the game. He could be great in the right environment though and him and currie could be dynamite second rowers together

| All those salary figures are too high. The highest salary I have seen paid at the club was £165k and that was for a player who had been through multiple contract negotiations over a long period.
The younger players get paid a surprisingly low amount as well. This isn't football!

| I'd be disappointed with a couple of these. Ben Evans is promising and has shown me enough to warrant a stay tbh, and Simon Grix is brilliant for us when fit, he was instrumental in the play off's for us in 2013. O'Brien wouldn't go for me but I understand he will be surplus to requirements next season.

www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/s ... tition-rfl?
Interesting comment from Smith towards the end.
Quote....Smith also revealed any more recruitment for 2016 by Warrington will likely be dependent on someone else leaving the club. He said: “For us to do some other things and tinkering, we’d probably have to move someone the other way. We’re still looking and we’re still tinkering and I reckon in the next little while we might do something.
“There’s a lot of players still available and when little things happen it does have a chain effect. I think there’ll be some movement for a while yet.”

Hirst is a hooker, possibly best suited to being bench interchange to attack a tiring defence. Foggin Johnston is an exciting winger whose strength and speed belies his size, I was surprised we didn't offer him a first team contract (although that may be due to the fact that we have a lot of wingers already). May prove to be a favourite at Doncaster if he sticks at the game.

Both highly rated I think but other will know better. I think Hirst is a prop and F-J a winger. Is it a loan deal or permanent?

| Cheers lads, from the brief clips i saw of foggin johnson you could see the boy has talent (a bit like greg johnson from salford) and i'm sure dan hirst is coming here as a number 9, anyway stephen hawking and the sugar monster would be an improvement on what we have here! thanks for the info

| Hirst has never played anything but hooker for Warrington. They are both Yorkshire based players, hope they do well.
I think a couple of the other lads have signed for Halifax.
