| I wasn't at the game, but from what I heard on the radio England made some good meters and busts and was solid in defence; Dwyer seemed really lively from dummy half (I'd very much like to see him interchange with Higham against a SL team), and; Penny was decent in both attack and defence.

| Bridge was unplayable today but it was against part-time opponents. Impressed with England as well you can really hear the impact when he tackles.
Only 3000 at the game!

| Oh and I did expect more of Russell and O'Brien today... Dwyer is good with the ball but it pretty weak in defence which may explain his limited appearances in SL.

| Pretty certain it was Ben Evans who stopped their try. Bridge looked lively with space at half back, GOB very quiet, and neither has a kicking game. Russell looked impressive and so too England. Asotasi should have torn it up today, but did bugger all. Penny looked very good indeed, solid defence and is still blisteringly quick. All in all, everything I expected out of today's game.happy with the zero, appalled by the crowd of 3002.

Just remind us who we were playing today??...... The fact I'm hearing and reading things like Penny and England played well, tells us we should take Bridge playing well at stand off with a huge pinch of salt.

Where is the excuse by Dita? He was playing against Doncaster. Would be a different story if he played halfback and picked up 36 points against the likes of Leeds, Wigan or St Helens.
So you have championed for him to be played at HB, he has, and he scored 36 points. He did it against part time opposition.
If he does it against the creme de la creme of SL, then you may have a case for craving the attention you so desperately wish for.

| I'm not after attention wire 111.
Just a successful team.
Like you and many others, I was unable to see us being competitive without some extreme action.
There is only two things we can do....One is spend, and morrisseyisawire already hinted that pride may hinder that route.
Or do something radical within our current playing stock...we exhausted all other means of combination at hb except for one inclusion.
All I want is my team to be the best....
I now have a real hope that we can be competing, it wasn't there before today.

| Rubber Duckie. While your views are well respected on here it was in my opinion may i state rather foolhardy championing Bridge's cause regarding his performance at hb considering the oppostion.By all means applaud him for his performance but people will only eat humble pie if he does it against the top sides on a regular basis, that is if Smithy gives him game time at that position.

| Penny was excellent in defence today, two try saving tackles putting the guy in touch and the big hit that was worthy of a prop, that decision was a do or die as well as Donny had a two man overlap and Penny was the last defender when he shot out at him.
Bridge easily mom
Penny 2nd
Hill 3rd (even with limited minutes)
England had a good game too.
Asotasi again...bugger all. I know I sound like a broken record but he really is rank average.
Roy is easily TS worst buy.

| Surely the only question has to be would Ratchford and/or Myler have played as well or better than Bridge at half-back today against the opposition in front of them? I'm not convinced they would and at least Bridge doesn't seem lacking in self-belief (admittedly not always a good thing in his case) whereas Myler dissappears up his own back passage as soon as it's shirt sleeves rolled up time.
Whatever you may think of RDs initial suggestion, the merits of it, and the relative success of it today given the opposition, TS obviously still believes Bridge can do a job there or he'd have stuck Currie at stand-off instead.

| I bet draw ht / leigh ft at 18/1. Very happy.
I also had a small bet on the double with draw ht Bradford ft 40/1.
Frigging close to busting the bookies! Only a conversion off!

| Sum it up, Wire scored tries we wouldn't have against SL opposition, a lot of long range tries due to Donny not setting quick enough.
A lot of stuff was the disjointed, slugglish confusion of late but Donnys lack of line speed wasn't going to trouble it.
We looked to have started up some set plays, not very slick.
Donny dropped a lot of ball and the atmosphere was flat. It felt like a Wetherspoons pub on a busy Saturday night just people chatting with each other, little singing.
Kicking game on the few they held out on the full set was rubbish AGAIN.

| Mr Smith seems quite pleased even if no-one else does ...............
"Chris was on fire today. He was terrific. He was keen to step into the stand-off position when he heard Stefan (Ratchford) was out and he's backed that up with a very good performance," Smith said.
"He was one of the shining lights, but there were plenty of them today and another was Kevin Penny.
"Kevin read the play very well and was smart in the way he turned up for his tries and he's progressing well."

Thanks. I think for Donny they decided this would be a case of take the money and run, with league position being so important in the championship this year. However having seen the attendance I bet they wish they had been at the LSV too!

| Bridge was outstanding today in stark contrast to GOB who once again failed to make the most of a gift wrapped opportunity. Patience is wearing thin I am afraid
Hill, superb, England and B Evans solid. Dwyer lively but needs to work on his passing ... get him to watch a few Kevin Ellis videos for speed and accuracy of passing
Kevin Penny was very entertaining and people woke up when he got the ball.
So far this season I have been impressed with Russell but am beginning to wonder. Has he actually broken through the line yet?

| Although it was Championship opposition ,there did seem to be more structured play & more organisation from the halves today, but only time will tell we have hit on the best combination when the team are up against SL opposition again. Good outings from Penny & England & all the young lads played their socks off when called on to do so. Best of all Joel ran more than 30 yards to score !
