I think the key word missing for the last few posts in this thread, is FRANCHISE.
The only problem, is enticing the fans of these clubs to embrace the idea of a new team, whilst still supporting their original club. Fans wont want their original club to die, yet MAY still want to see "top notch" RL played close to their doorsteps. That would involve people watching 2 games a week, and, in these hard financial times, people do not pooh money. Unfortunately, I don't see this happening anytime soon.
