It's really disgraceful for anything to be thrown onto the pitch, but a flare's really dangerous. I noticed one got set off at the Magic Weekend during the Hull derby as well. Something as dangerous as that really should carry a heavy fine for the club and a lifetime ban for any fan caught with on.'"
Smoke bombs are not flares!
And apart from directly inhaling it or it being thrown at you, smoke bombs are pretty harmless. They use them a lot of paintballing and they're thrown about often landing right next to people.
Flares:
Smoke Bombs:
Even if someone responsible was holding it, flares aren't [ithat[/i dangerous. Just depends if it's being held by a numpty or not.

| What about smoking cigs eh, whats worse with smoking a cig than a smoke bomb.
Remember when the Nazis banned us from lighting up at the stadium, is it any wonder they can't fill it? They might have had to build a new stand by now, if all the smokers hadn't stopped going.

I'm thinking it's dangerous because of the risk of panic if someone assumes there's a fire, as well as being a pain in the posterior and agitating the other crowd members. I know I wouldn't be happy if some numpty next to me let off a smoke bomb.
The RFL has a responsibility to prevent this sort of thing though and the only way I know of that works is by penalising clubs whose fans act in this way. It's not fair on everyone I know, but if it stops this sort of thing happening at other games, so much the better.

I have asked this of the Stone Island firm on here before, never had a proper answer. There was a couple set off at Wheldon Road last year, other than it stinking and most people heading straight out it was an utterly forgettable experience.
Could you really be bothered with the hassle?

| The ref. - Weaker than a vicar's handshake. He could have nipped HKR's spoiling tactics in the bud, but chose not to, and let them interfere for the full 80. Yesterday's game would have been a lot better for it.
HKR's fans - Must have really sore shoulder joints this morning, after all the frantic armwaving they were doing, after the several miscarriages of justice they were subjected to by Roby's performance. And they say Stefan Kiscko and Barry George had it tough.
Decent turnout from them, but I was expecting a following of the proportions Genesis had at the Circus Maximus in 2007.
Our tackling - At times it was 5h1te, going too high. But hey-ho, we only conceded one try. Good result considering their right edge cut through us a few times
Some v. good performances from Bridge and Currie (great try). More of the same, lads.
Players rested for CCSF, and we win. Ticks in both boxes.
Onwards, Wire

If you aint in the firm you wouldn't understand but its a way of showing you're a rebel if you aren't hard enough to actually merk someone and do time inside for it. Its like playing music loud on your mobile phone in a train carriage it shows I'm free, I do what I want and if you don't like it you can go and move to North Korea or summat cos this is a free country.

Josh Hodgson had a try disallowed (right under the sticks) before the forward pass one,
Looked a good try to us and Josh certainly thought he'd scored it but Roby disallowed it.

Yes I know he consulted the In Goal TJ, but it was still disallowed, which was my point.
From where we were, (it was in front of us) it looked like a good try,and Josh Hodgson thought it was too.

To be honest if that was the case that would strengthen the argument that KR were hard done by, as the in goal judges never make a decision normally.

Think the point is you assume he knows what he is doing?
Being right behind this (was 3 wire players?) i had one of the best views (better than the in goal dude as he was to the side), saw the ball go to ground and Josh moved backwards, one of those calls for a video ref at all games again, id put a lot of money on that being give.
Seemed that the 50-50's went Wire's way, take the 'strips/in collision' there was 8 in total that i counted, 4 on each side, Rovers got one penalty from the very last one (5 mins to go?), the other 3 when Rovers were carrying were deemed knock ons. Wire had 4 and got a penalty for each. (not saying you didnt knock on etc, just with reference to these decisions). Cant say its advantage to attacking or defending side as it didnt work like that for both.
There was a number of dubious passes (for both sides) that were allowed.
Lets be frank about it, Rovers were always going to try spoiling tactics in the ruck, your play the ball is a hell of a lot faster and speed in attack, thus if we didnt we'd be blown away, Wire are smarter than us, you commit the extra man to the tackle and hold up for longer, thus it seems your not killing as much time. Wigan do it also. If you actually timed it, id say from impact i bet you held in the tackle for longer, difference was yours wasnt on the ground. When you did get quick play the balls, what happened...you scored. Cant go criticising for a tactic? Should we jump straight off when the defensive line isnt set and allow you to get a pen for being offside? All sides spoil, its just how you do and get away with it, as i say, you hold up before placing to ground (i wish we did it, never get penalised until it goes to ground).
Mr Roby though, looks lost, always looking for help, honestly think the current best referee is James Child (and thats hard for me to say), isnt afraid to admit a mistake, doesnt spot everything but is at least consistent with it.
Thought it was a good game, do feel agreeved about the result as it always seems to go away from us at the back end of the game and the scoreline doesnt flatter the effort at times. Your defence made us re-think in attack and correct there wasnt really a plan b, our kicking wasnt great, we seemed scared of your speed at times. Just hope you back it up on Sunday
On the flares and bottles, one idiot was booted out for the bottle that hit Roby's leg, id moved for the second half and Roby looked at me lol, had my hands in my pockets so wasnt me. The flare has become an annoying problem. Hoping those responsible get bans, but as others noted, people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones (or bottles), given the incident last week there isnt too much room to bitch about us. Wont be the last time something happens as beer takes over for those who cant handle it, nor understand whats going on in front of them, unfortunately beer is never going to be banned in the stands.

| Bottles should be banned in the stadium, serve pints in plastic pots, serve draft soft drinks too, you ever try throwing one of those and you won't get as far as two rows in front of you.

| Throwing objects on the pitch is ridiculous. I can't understand why someone would do it, but then again, mindless idiots are part of every clubs fan base.
These people should be ejected, banned and named and shamed. Put their picture and name in the newspaper and advertise the stupidity of the man (or woman) Hopefully shames people into not doing it in future

Completely agree it's idiotic and they should be charged, banned & vilified by their own supporters, however publicising those responsible would only shame them if they felt remorse for their actions. Otherwise they would see it as a "badge of honour". Don't give them the satisfaction.
