| Hopefully Blythe, Ben Evans, Dwyer and Mendeika will return to us at the end of the season. Think we'll see less new signings than departures.

Problem at youth level is that lads who are seen as big/strong for their age at at 16 very rarely keep growing at the same rate to full maturity. I had this discussion with coaches about one of Wire's current youth props who is a fantastic reader of the game in play, but based on his parents/grandparents I'd say wont get much bigger than he is now - don't get me wrong, he's not small, and is already strong as an ox and deceptively quick, so I actually think he'll end up being perfect as a destructive attacking centre in SL ......

I assumed Riley was doing a Mossop and would come back to us in couple of years time. Next year we might well have Ben Evans as our young prop alongside Harrison, Hill, Wood (he's rumoured to be leaving every year) and maybe even Morley. Carvell does look to be on his way though.

| I can see Westwood moving up to the front row given our options in the backrow: Waterhouse, Currie, Grix, McCarthy and Laithwaite.
Plus England looks pretty nailed-on as a signing for next year as a prop plus I wouldn't be surprised if we sign a prop from down-under (just to clarify anybody who thinks Graham may be joining us for next season is clearly certifiable as insane).

Course you can,
remember that transfer fee we paid for myler, that all salford fans tend to forget about?
Double that, and stick a 1 and two Zero's on the end of it, and then we'll talk.

Why would we get rid of our future super star full back just because we have a new half back coming in to replace Briers when he retires?!

Im fairly sure we will be going to the NRL for a prop.
I think our problem is that we could be losing Morley, Carvell, Cooper, (also Glenn Riley but he hasnt really featured).. so we are going to have to find 3 new props. 5 or 6 top props is a must.
Where are these guys going to come from? Westwood could move up to prop... Also Ben Harrison (if he can stay fit).
Would people be happy going into next season with the following props
Hill
Wood
Westwood
Harrison
(A Signing)
Personally, i think we are going to need another signing, which will have to be an off quota player from another super league club.... i Would like to see another British prop with a good few years in him come into the squad... im not sure if there are any out there.. Maybe big Earl would like a fresh challenge.
or can someone step up from the younger players? Danny Bridge maybe? Ben Evans?

We will have England from Fev, but we will definitely need another import of the quality of hill - for me that means looking at the NRL.
There is no way Danny Bridge will play prop, Gavin Benion is still too young and inexperienced, but Ben Evans can probably do a back up job and it will bring him on. Plus, I don't think TS will wish to break up the Evans twins, so for me Evans will definitely return at the end of the season.
So my guess would be Hilly and A.N. Other as first choice. Then England and Woody as interchange, with Ben Evans getting regular games ( 12 ) and the introduction of Benion (3/4).

England seems to be a first choice prop for Fev, and will be 25 yrs old next year, so he is close to his peak for a prop. So yes, I think he will come straight into our team once he has familiarised with our systems and plays.
I did used to think Harrison to prop would be a good move, but I am unsure now. Packs seem to be getting bigger in SL, and I am not convinced he would make the yardage. The BR is going to be very interesting next year with Westwood, Waterhouse, Currie, Grix, then Laithwaite trying to get in, Harrison trying to get back and Bridge perhaps sniffing around as well.

I also dont think Harrison will be able to make the step up to prop.. A few years ago it looked as though maybe that would be the natural route for him.. However, due to injuries or whatever else, his game appears to have gone backwards. I think he could find himself with a battle on his hands next season with the names mentioned above.

| Heard Danny Kirmond's name mentioned as a target recently. Good player but back row doesn't seem to be an area we're short in.

That does sound a strange one, but I suppose we are quite opportunistic if someone becomes available. I was rather hoping we might get Paea, but sounds as though he is either NRL or Hull bound.

Crabtree was on SS News after the Wigan game singing our praises. Thought it was a bit odd at the time, but maybe his agent has been approached ?
